Saxby Chambliss is scum..plain and simple. Until recently, I didn't think it'd be possible to dislodge him, but the fortunes of the election have changed, and recent polls show the state within 3 points for Obama and a tie between Chambliss and Democratic challenger Jim Martin.

This is one of the most important races in the country this November. And I say that not just because I'm a Georgian. The Chambliss ouster of Cleland is one of the worst things to happen during this whole bleak period we've been living through. Not only is it disgusting for the reasons you point out, but the election results themselves were highly questionable.

4. Let's Slap Chambliss Shitless

Who is Georgia's Saxby Chambliss? No, he's not a televangelist although that's a great guess-and he's not just some d-bag with a ridiculous name! He's a D-bag SENATOR with a ridiculous name, and he must be defeated. Just some rough outlines:

League of Conservation Voters gives Chambliss a whopping 7% score for his record on environmental issues

National Education Association gives Chambliss a score of "F"
However, the National Rifle Association gives Senator Chambliss an A+

NARAL gives Chambliss a 0% score
Not surprisingly, Planned Parenthood also gives him 0%
But the anti reproductive rights group, National Right To Life Committee, rates Chambliss 100%

While the American Legion rates Chambliss at 100%
The group Disabled American Veterans said he supported their issues only 60% of the time in 2006
The group, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans gave him a corresponding mark of "D-"
In 2005, during one of the worst years of the Iraq War, Disabled American Veterans rated Chambliss at only 42%

On the immigration/xenophobia front, Saxby Chambliss gets an "A" from the group, U.S. English, and 100% from English First.

But lest he be thought to be supportive of native U.S. labor, Chambliss voted for the interests of AFL-CIO only 11% of the time.
AFSCME rated him at 0%

Children's Defense Fund gave Chambliss a 40% rating last year, which is up from his score of 0% the year before
Chambliss routinely gets a shining 100% from the Family Research Council, whose mission statement ends on this note which may trouble those who believe in Jefferson's wall separating church from state: " Believing that God is the author of life, liberty, and the family, FRC promotes the Judeo-Christian worldview as the basis for a just, free, and stable society."

Chambliss also excelled in the view of Donald E. Wildmon's American Family Association (100% rating from them) whose mission statement reads: "The American Family Association exists to motivate and equip citizens to change the culture to reflect Biblical truth."

The American Civil Liberties Union most recently graded Chambliss at 17%
Somehow the NAACP rated him at 27%. I'm sure Saxby would find that embarrassing and would like it to be even lower.

Public Citizen's Congress Watch most recently rated Saxby at 0%
But the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gave him 82% for last year and 94% for the year previous.

The latest rating I can find for Chambliss from the Christian Coalition is a rapturous 100%
And his most recent evaluation from the distinguished John Birch Society is barely less glowing at 90% approval.

Take him all in all, he is a giant flaming asshole. Please please help Georgians get rid of this heinous d-bag Senator. He's not just fucking up Georgia he's fucking up America. Your contribution can help, no matter what it is.
