So .... It is Nov 5. We know for sure we won. Now what? |
|
We win in an historic landslide sweep. We take the White House and increase our numbers in Congress in a way that completely marginalizes the opposition party. The mandate to change is clear.
Now what?
A looming global depression.
An empty vault at Treasury.
Dismal international standing
I guess the good part is, the only direction is up.
But how?
What?
Fantasize and share it in this thread.

I have seen all the anticipation in past elections and will wait until the actual day after to start planning.

I watched all those bullshit "Fitzmas" threads as well as the "Kerry's gonna win" threads, and all I can say is that if you want to fuck this thing up, keep waving your predictions (and hopes) under the noses of the gods.
I'll just sit here with stomach pain and nervous brain flutters until it's over.

8. So lemme get this straight ....... |
|
.... you, and presumably the person to whom you responded, think that certain words strung together by an anonymous poster on a relatively minor internet message board in a grammatically reasonable way to convey a thought has the power to derail a presidential election?
Is that about it?
Do you have a rabbit's foot on your key chain? A four leaf clover sealed in plastic? Do you check under your bed at night before you climb in?
Cuz that's kinda what you're saying in the face of a Saturday morning fantasy musing by a hopeful voter.

I always thought "harsh" was contained within "snarky," by definition.
It's all right, you know, for people to view things differently from how you view them.

why Kerry balked at going after all the wrongdoing in Ohio. I strongly, without an ounce of substantiation, suspected Skull and Bones (no, I'm SERIES!11!!!). And that left me cautious, like you, in matters like this.
Thank you.

If you look at the irrationality of what's gone on in our electoral process and our country these past almost-eight years, you can draw no other conclusion that superstition just might be all we have left in terms of trying to get things right again.
What you're doing is what my mother used to call "counting your chickens before they're hatched."

Dance to the music.. dance in the streets all night
Then get up Wednesday morning and announce Obama's new administration team. Get to work right away on taking over this mess from Bush and putting things aright. Talk to the nation immediately and every day honestly, sincerely, treating the nation like they are adults and a vital part of the team, re-inforce the notion that it's going to take all of us working together to restore and repair the damage that's been done.

who save evidence from the last eight years and bring it to his administration as soon as it takes office. He should also announce that participants in wrongdoing who don't come forward or who destroy evidence will be prosecuted to the max possible.

Make jobs to rebuild and improve infrastucture.
Make jobs by major commitment to develop dispersed alternative energy.
Purge Regency grads and other ideologues imbedded in federal agencies.
Investigate and prosecute fascist politicians, military, media, and corporate honchos; seize assets.
On bended knee re-join the community of nations.
I would like to see church-state separation including taxing their rela estate and income but realize this is unrealistic; but the RW Christian hate machine needs a major slap-down.
Quality affordable and accessible health care and education.
Major renovation of corporate and banking regulation and oversight.
etc. etc.

Lord know why the rest of the world keeps putting up with us, but they do.
Increase taxes on people who've made a killing under Reagan/Bush. Don't just repeal the Bush tax cuts but go back to pre-Raygun. Hartmann keeps talking about a tax I think he calls STET. It's a small tax on every stock transaction. It's not much for each share of stock, but it does accummulate for large transactions. It's not even enought to discourage large transactions, but it does discourage lost of speculative transactions that are like to be reversed in the near future. It's a good revenue generator.
As someone else said, stop wasting huge amounts of money in Iraq.
Then, put sensible regulations on banking and finance.
Oh, and make the drug companies give us good prices on medicine for Medicare. And pull the plug on all the useless and expensive testing in schools.

Obama might make some small changes but not an overhaul. It's to complicated and there would have to be far to many unpopular decisions to be made by a politician. He'll have enough unpopular decision to make in regards to the economy.

32. First thing is, the DOW will go up based on a Democratic win. |
|
So if you can, buy a little something now and profit. :)
Second thing is, Obama team gets going with their bad-ass selves and makes a lot of good plans. I get to take a few weeks off and not worry about anything and stop paying attention to politics for awhile. Because I've been working hard and I deserve it. That will take me up to Christmas. Then we have the inauguration. I'll start worrying again in March or something. :hi:
