McCain smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for about 25 years |
|
I noticed that CNN just made an issue that Obama used to be a smoker but failed to mention that McCain was too. http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/05/obama_smoking_presents_health.html>>>For the record, McCain smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for about 25 years before he quit in 1980.<<<

3. McCain has always been actively seeking his own death |

Smoking, aviation induced cosmic ray exposure and living in the sunniest state in the United States despite being an Irish albino are all classic examples of poor judgment.

I am a non smoker, but for Christ Sakes, who gives a rat's ass about if someone smokes cigarettes or not? McCain quit, apparently so did Obama. It is not an easy vice to quit and both men should be commended for quitting. Now let's move on to real issues, like that pastor problem or some guy who did something when Obama was 8 years old. Fuck! Let's give up this STUPID SHIT and elect a man who is truly qualified to lead the USA. If he smokes cigaretytes, then he will be spending a lot of money and coughing a lot.

Obama, being a recent smoker, knows how hard quitting smoking is. He even came out and said health care insurance should cover smoking cessation programs!
As a smoker who wants to quit but is allergic to the nicotine transdermal patches, I completely support that position. It makes zero sense to me why insurance companies won't cover patient who want to quit smoking because later smokers end up costing them more when they're cancer or heart patients!

13. By the time the cost savings would be realized by the insurance company |
|
the person who quit smoking is likely going to be working somewhere else and covered by a different insurer. Hence there's not a real huge incentive for them.
But as a society, we'd certainly cut our collective medical costs in the long-term if we made it easier for smokers to quit.
Good luck on your efforts to quit!
