The 2nd whitest state will be one of the five states that go most overwhelmingly for Obama |
|
The polls show that he's beating McCain by some 24%. I'll bet it's by even more than that. And no, it's not just because of the economy.

5. Whats sad is the most heavily black states will go overwhelmingly for McCain |
|
Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina. But at least Georgia, NC and Virginia are tossups or Obama. Its sad, I would love to see Mississippi vote Obama as that would really symbolize something great about human progress. It must be very undignified in this historic election to have these states with 30-40% of the population as black voters go heavily for McCain. Its as big as an insult as when alot of those states when for Wallace in 1968.

6. what??!! Are you claiming that the black vote in Mississippi, LA |
|
SC and AL will go heavily for for McCain? On what do you base that bizarre prediction. I'm not arguing that Obama will win those states, but it's not going to be because of the heavy black vote for McCain.

that those states' final tally will be overwhelmingly republican, despite the predicted 90-95% obama support within the black comm. in other words, the black vote won't be able to turn those states.
edited to add: ...despite the fact that their share of the electorate is among the highest in the country

Mississippi, with its 40% black population should be able to garner enough support among blacks, educated liberals, people from out of state and young voters to get to a 51% margin and turn Mississippi blue. Sadly Mississippi will probably go McCain 60-40.

I've read posts where you've chastised other members for bringing race into their comments.

10. well, partly my point is that I'm proud of |

my state, and partly my point is that the people who claimed Obama would have all this trouble attracting white voters, are wrong. And no, sorry, I've stayed away from chastising people for bringing up race- even when they bring up patently stupid shit.
