the Lakeview Terrace area, really strong winds out of the NE so all that heavy smoke has settled in here. My cats are coughing and so am I. We are many miles away across the city, so I can't imagine what it is like closer to the fire.

The wind is 30-40 mph with some truly hellish gusts. Fires cannot be controlled in this weather. The only good thing is that it is NOT going to be 110 degrees.

although as the big storm moves in over the next day or so the winds might shift. They're just not going to slow down.

2. Cool front came through a couple of days ago and that's why we have this

strong wind out of the NE. It's on the back side of the low.

4. They just announced evacuations

down to Foothill Blvd. I lived it that area a few years back.. Pretty scary. Stay safe everyone and I hope they are able to save all those homes.

10. BAD smoke and ash all day...........roaring, whipping winds.....

I'm coughing and my throat hurts from the smoke. My cats at home were coughing this AM. At least we don't have to be running the AC today, that would just bring in more crap.

The good news is, my assistant got to the cats and is bringing them back here to the clinic for safekeeping. They will probably be able to go home tomorrow. The fire is moving FAST.

i had friends who lived in lakeview terrace too...not a bad area if you ask me.
