More Republican scandals

So I thought I would inject a little humor into all the serious discussion here. The Sunday edition of the NY Times had a front page article on more of the pork barrel spending they are always accusing us of. Sadly for them all those involved appear to be republicans, it just never stops. By the way for those that can do these things, the times is offering a 7 day FREE trial of the electronic addition, so anyone can look this up. Apparently a mid level engineer Micheal Cantrell and deputy doug Ennis have plead guilty to corruption charges, meaning they are ratting out all those involved. While working for the Army Space and Missile Defense Command, in Huntsville, he pitched many projects that the Army didn't want and even made up some. One, my personal favorite involved shipping a rocket nose cone to a company in Maine that had designed it in the first place, then shipping it back to Huntsville, and billing every time to get kickbacks from the company and the shippers. This scheme apparently involved one James Longley a repub congressman from Maine, who later set up, you guessed it a consulting firm. I have read the article 3 times and still can't figure out all the angles, but it is hilarious, except you want to cry at the same time. Now the names of the usual suspects, Trent Lott and aids for protection, Rep Curt Weldon of Pa,RC Shelby Ala. Olympia Snowe Maine, and of course Stevens of Alaska, who evidently wanted to build a spaceport on Kodiak Island. I write this because evidently corruption and theft of tax dollars is so common that it gets barely a mention anymore. I only hope that When Obama is POTUS, he can assign someone to clean out this cesspool of republican criminals once and for all.
