I'm androgynous.. Limited small minded people have a habit of fearing ambiguity, difference and alternative identities.Because some people are bigoted, they make sure they are insulated from differences and stay around people similar to themselves. So they don't have to make any effort to humanize the other they see as weird or whatever..
I wish the people with the urges to define others as this or that would just GET OVER IT and deal with the fact we are who we are and everyone is not the same, and they do not have to be.. Geez. As if being black or androgynous and compared against each other somehow lessens the androgynous or black person or makes them into something more than a person. Shit that's just stupidity.

But I notice that reality TV rarely, if ever, puts androgeny in a positive light.
It's almost as if it's like how black characters were portrayed on early TV.
Reinforcing negative stereotypes.
Do you agree?

I do. It's a kind of trans-phobia.Transgender people get treated bad on TV,Genderqueer androgyny does,so do body modified people and fat people they get treated bad too.
I am sick of it I think it's high time we did away with that shit..

4. How do you think that this trend can be countered? |

Obviously, the plight of transgendered people is not being taken seriously.
And as early black actors did to prolong the stereotyping, there are androgenous individuals sacrificing their dignity for a spot in the limelight today?
Who makes the objection and how?

One way is for people ON TV to demand to be respected. No respect no show. Secondly anyone out there familiar with said issues should bring it up in conversations with friends acquaintances, strangers.Talk to people,if you ARE androgyny or trans show people you too are a human being.Answer respectful questions even stupid questions IF the questioner is not trying to shame you.
Also when TV is treating a person with disrespect light up the phone lines, write a newspaper or write your own thoughts on forums like DU or blogs.Tell them you think they are acting like assholes and why.
