2. The Post-Mortum Begins...
This is great stuff...but Jed always comes up with the goods.

Note how many of these rats have jumped ship in just the past couple days. Expect more to follow as Camp Gramps continues to flail in one of the most inept campaigns ever. He needs a big win in tomorrow night's debate...a "knock-out", a "home-run"...he needs to thread the needle of being aggressive yet not cranky. I don't see him pulling it off...and with it even more rats will jump.

Dare I pat myself on the back, but I predicted this scenario following the '04 elections...the GOOP would over-reach and then begin to implode as its various factions jockey for the spoils. Now they're trying to avoid the blame. We got a good example of things to come with how nasty their primary season was (and it was...if you didn't notice). Gramps survived like the last car standing at a demolition derby. He didn't win his nomination with strength, but by default. He's never really had his party behind him...when he panders too much to one faction, he offends another.

This game should be even more fun to watch after the elections...as the blame game and fight for the remnants of that corrupt party begin. Gramps will become the ultimate scapegoat and I suspect we'll see a lot of open warfare between factions as they fight to fill what is sure to be a huge power vacuum...and with a lot of baggage and distrust among themselves. Here's hoping we can push the issue...get out the vote and make their worst nightmares a reality.

4. Love this quote from Mickey Edwards:
"today, thanks to a campaign apparently managed by Moe, Curly, and Larry, he comes across as erratic (Obama's word, but it fits), impulsive, befuddled, and ill-tempered, and apparently unable to utter any words other than 'surge' and 'earmarks.'"

5. And then there's all of the incumbents running this year
None of them identify themselves as Republicans. None of them went to the Republican National Convention. None of them want to be seem with Bush or McCain. All of them are running as "bipartisan" independents.

6. Reading David Frum's words could lead someone to think he works for Faux News instead of NatReview.
"Perhaps it is our job at NRO is tell our readers only what they want to hear, without much regard to whether it is true. Perhaps it is our duty just to keep smiling and to insist that everything is dandy - that John McCain's economic policies make sense, that his selection of Sarah Palin was an act of statesmanship, that she herself is the second coming of Anna Schwartz, and that nobody but an over-educated snob would ever suggest otherwise."

9. I read the phrase somewhere,
"The ship deserting the sinking rats."

Rats McCain and Palin better learn how to swim.

Republicans, especially the veryrights get toe idea they GOP is about to get clobbered and lose a lot of ground, maybe even split due to infighting and blame.

I would love to watch that happen, and I hope the Democratic president and Congress show the GOP no mercy at all.

11. Not a big deal, but there are several dups on the list
They have Bill Kristol, Ed Rollins, Michelle Malkin, and the National Review Editorial Board on the list twice. Those are the ones that stood out on a quick read.

Like I said, not a big deal, but there aren't as many ship jumpers as the list would imply.
