So .... the guy from Quinnipiac just said what he thought was the good news for McCain ..........
....... in the face of new polls showing Johnny with a double digit deficit in MI, MN, WI, and CO.

"He hasn't lost his base."

Hahahahaha

That's it.

He. Hasn't. Lost. His. Base.

1. His base?
Aren't those the people that walk out when he gets up after Sarah Palin speaks?

2. Keep in mind in 1980 Carter was leading by 8% in late October.
This is not over yet. Overconfidence is not warranted.

Obama's support is soft and subject to rapid flip-flops. Voters are still idiots don't forget it.
I don't celebrate before I can see Obama in the White House.

8. Even if Obama is leading with enough to win ... IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!
It has to be CRUSHING ... a LANDSLIDE of unprecedented scale. A wipe-out. A "comfortable margin" ISN'T ENOUGH. It's not enough to merely "defeat" the reich, it must be HUMILIATED.

Remember ... we haven't yet moved a fraction of an inch to the 'left' in terms of legislation, federal management, the judiciary, or anything else. It's not enough to slow down the slide to fascism - IT MUST BE REVERSED!

Nothing short of the most crushing imaginable wipe-out is acceptable.

3. Not lost them but how happy are they?
I think the enthusiasm gap really favors Obama in a big way right now. Republicans either dislike McCain or they dislike Palin. Instead of having the ticket bring both sides of their nutty base together all they've done is push them apart. If there is a slight breeze on election day I can see repukes deciding it's too cold to bother voting this year.

13. The Moran Vote
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 01:08 PM by Loki
I hope John McCain lives to be a very old man. Every day he will have to look back and remember that instead of leaving his career in service to his country with pride and integrity and honor, he left it swimming in the stench of the fetid sewer that has now become the "base" of the Republican Party. My father was a WWII Navy vet who served on a submarine in the Pacific from 1942 through the end of the war, and his favorite saying was "That's sure one sorry-assed son of a bitch." Thanks Dad, I couldn't have said it better myself.
