Bush says "Not intended to take over the free market but to preserve it."
"Government owning a stake in any private U.S. company is objectionable to most Americans — me included," he (Paulson) added. "Yet the alternative of leaving businesses and consumers without access to financing is totally unacceptable."

Anyone beside myself remembering that they profit from destroying things, and gain control of things by both allowing and causing them to fail? Does anyone else remember the concept of "Disaster Capitalist"? Of invading Iraq only for oil, and lying to to so? Does anyone else think that he isn't done with either lying or profiting? And mocking us in the process?

They destroy things in order to gain control of them. And why is it surprising that it's happening just before they're likely to be swept from squatting in the White House?

How is this different from 9/11? Fear, confusion, fear of more of the same at any minute...and THEY have a plan, which just like the "Patriot Act", looks to give them astonishing control of the most important parts of the nation and thus influence over the world. If Bush said it, how likely is it that it is =just one more mocking lie as they do anything they want=?

They haven't changed. They're the sake sick, dominating people. Their plans haven't changed. Their plans look exactly the same to me. Exactly the same.

Fear gives rise to agreement to any solution to any impossible threat. These people should have been removed years ago, when it became apparent that they're mocking liars only interested in themselves. Now, we have more of the same thing, and they are going to gain astonishing power over us, far more than before. They want to replace everything with their own systems. Before you know it, presto, they can do anything they want, and anything they want to us.

Please tell me that I'm somehow wrong, that this actually helps us instead of being them again helping themselves, to us. As the wise person said, socialized support of private profiteering.

2. They're not trying to create disorder -- they're trying to preserve disorder
Because, you know, you have to burn the village in order to save it...

3. Hello? This is 9/11 all over again. This is him yet again saying the reverse of what he intends
as any negative person does to mock their target.

Why are we not immediately removing this utter criminal and his co-conspirators? What level of denial is in place for this to continue unchallenged?

4. Oh geez. Look, they're only buying shares of banks because the British shamed them into it
This is Gordon Brown's plan that most of Europe is doing. It's approved in theory by Krugman and most leading economists. This is not a power grab by Bush or Paulson, since it violates every free market principle they believe in.

6. I don't get how the people who lied us into an international oil monopoly would do a thing
that anyone else says, especially if it's good for someone other than themselves. It's not their nature. Remember Katrina? Thanks for the info, I'm truly hoping that someone can convince me that this isn't something with a hidden agenda, which is all they seem to be good for.

They aren't humanitarians, didn't give a shit about Iraqi civilians, Darfur genocide, the citizens of New Orleans, and they endorse torture...what's in it for them?

7. The facts are that Paulson changed his plan to match the British model
Bernanke, who is much more knowledgeable than Paulson, wanted this sort of plan from the beginning. Somehow the powers that be convinced Paulson to agree to this partial nationalization of the banks. It certainly isn't something that he or Bush wanted, and the very idea is anathema to conservatives.

5. socialize the risk, privatize the profits.
when things go south, they need government money- but when the sweet juicy profits come rolling back- can't let the government(i.e.-the people...i.e.-the serfs) share in any of that....:grr: :banghead: :grr:
