I'm in red Putnam Co. TN and have had the same Obama signs for months. I bought 25 thinking I would be replacing them every other day, gave the extras away at a rally over the weekend. The campaign mood is very subdued here as people realize they have been taken by the Repubs, but don't want to openly commit to Obama.

19. Habanero paste works for me

This is the first year I've grown habanero peppers (along with six other varieties). After trying to put a few of those squat, orange napalm peppers in my food (with a very unpleasant sensation during the meal and the next morning), the only useful purpose I have been able to find for these peppers is to use them as chemical warfare.

So I grind up about a dozen peppers with a little olive oil, create a pouch running the length of the top of my Obama yard-signs and fill the pouches with the fiery paste. (I also coat the sides where Rethug election thieves might grab the signs.)

I have had only one sign stolen and then no more. I sincerely hope that I cauterized the nose hairs and pubic areas of any sign thieves who scratched their noses or their nether regions with paste still on their hands.

Blinded by the light. You betcha.

Me, I really like the poblano peppers I'm also raising for the first time. The plants are almost seven feet tall, the green and red peppers are beautiful and their heat is quite bearable. Reminds me of northern New Mexico, where a big piece of my heart lives.
