Dangerous GOP road rage.... we are NOT like THIS! (y'all ever see anything like this?)
I just got back from dropping my beau, the commie, off at work.... time to make the bagels.
As you can imagine I have a DU sticker and an Obama sticker on the back of my car. WELL, this guy in a truck swung in behind me (no, I did not cut him off, he was parked by the side of the road), put his brights on in my mirror and tailgated me. THEN to my surprise.... this jerk followed me to my apartment.... Yes, I was a bit afraid..... it's 5:20 in the morning and NO BODY is out on my street.... when I pulled over to park he swooped in and nearly side swiped my car... and sped off. It was a big black pick up truck and I couldn't tell the make and his license plate was on upside down.... Whoa!
We don't behave that way.... Guess he's pissed about losing Va.

1. Zowie. I am really glad that you and your car are okay.
If anything like that ever happens again, I hope you are close enough to a police station to swing on by and park in *their* lot rather than leading the jerk home.

So glad you're okay. Stay safe.

Hekate

2. I am glad you made it home safe
That guy is dangerous.
And if you see this same truck again in your neighborhood I would call the police. It could be more than just politics that is driving him.

3. Yes, that's an idea. If someone is intimidating you on the road, try to drive to the nearest police

station and park in the parking lot. The other vehicle will usually chicken out and just drive off.

6. Yup, it doesn't matter WHY they're doing it...
when they're doing it.

7. As much as I hate to say it
This is why I don't have any yard signs and or bumper stickers (not that I want bumper stickers as I really think they make the vehicle look shabby, but that is my personal taste). There are just too many nuts out there and being harassed in any way is simply not worth it. Safety is paramount in my opinion, I can't cast my vote if I am in the hospital because someone drove me off the road and I am injured, because of some nutcase. I will vote, write LTTE's, write my elected officials on issues of importance, donate to the campaign and talk to folks that either ask me about issue or candidates, but no signs or stickers. That's just my own rule for me and everyone needs to do whatever they think best.

8. While I know that's the reasonable course....
...There is an element in my personality that will cause me to be even more confrontational now.... I can't help it.
It's like dogs eating garbage.... I can't stop.

9. I'm like you...lol
Got called a "ni**er-lovin' terrorist" at the gas pump.

I conceded and removed negative McCain-Palin signs from my car but certainly kept the remaining pro-Obama ones...moved the remaining yard sign (huge!) right next to the house. I say remaining because I, like others, have had multiple ones stolen.

I do get more combative (but civilly!) with the escalation of their mob; however, I have a child, and I do temper my engagement for fear of her safety.

HOW FUCKIN' SAD IS THAT?!!!! That this is even a thought in America in 2008?

*sighs*

11. I understand
just be careful. Fortunately the election will be over shortly and things will calm down a bit. Unfortunately between now and then, they will become more and more tense.

14. I don't do bumper stickers, either.
Too many crazy right wingers driving really big vehicles in my part of the world. I do wear liberal t-shirts frequently, though. If they're brave enough to look me in the eye and say what they have to say, then bring it on. Nobody ever has.

15. I won't do bumper stickers either.
I do, however, do car magnets. I just got my Obama/Biden car magnet last week. One advantage is you can take it off when you want to. At the subway the other day, I noticed a car with a Rudy 2008 bumper sticker on it. Obviously its been on there for a while. That person is misguided in so many ways.

19. Same here. I know who I am voting for, I don't need to advertise it and put myself in harm's way.

16. I had one last year who followed me (on my bumper) right to the police station.
He was on my bumper, in a 35 mph zone, at speeds exceeding 75 (he was intent on ramming into my car). I led him right to a police substation, where I entered the parking lot leaning on the horn with my car skidding sideways. Idiot boy took off with four of our local finest in hot pursuit.

Court was fun.
