Did anyone else hear CNN report early this AM that "Joe the Plumber" does not YET net $250,000/year. |
|
While I was drinking my first cup of coffee, I distinctly heard Cable CNN news model state the above.
Can anyone else confirm this with me? And if so, are we JERKS to wonder why this "Joe the Plumber" would not only forward an illogical argument and also claim to be voting against HIS OWN PERSONAL FINANCIAL (and business) WELLBEING when he casts his vote for McCain?

They don't even gross $250,000/yr. And they vote straight Democratic ticket.

5. There you go! That supports Obama's contention that 98% of small business owners |
|
would not see their taxes raised.
However, the M$M has steered clear of this topic altogether because it makes McCain seem even more out of touch with Americans. EVEN the average small business owner.
JOE isn't even genuine. THAT'S NEWS to me. Much more so than the ACORN Voter Registration FRAUD bring down our democracy (24/7 on FOX). :(

3. There is much to this story that doesn't compute. McCain brought up |
|
his name and situation but the public really doesn't know if what or any of his story is true. So we have a real person with real life circumstances being used as a hypothetical. It sounds unfair and misleading.

4. Gee, if I hit the lottery . . . |
|
I'd move up into a much higher tax bracket! What's Obama's plan going to mean for me if I hit the lottery for a hundred million dollars? I'd better vote for McCain in case I win the lottery.

6. He hasn't bought the business yet |
|
It's the business he wants to buy that brings in $250k+ in revenue. Doesn't Obama's tax plan impact individuals earning over that amount, not businesses? I haven't been able to find an answer to how businesses bringing in over $250k would be impacted under Obama's plan.
Regardless, Joe would be doing better on his personal income tax under Obama's plan than McSame's plan.

8. Another badly vetted campaign ploy by the McCain campaign |
|
Joe the Plant, er, Plumber is a close relative of Charles Keating's son-in-law. I really think the McCain campaign should have thought twice about bringing anyone up who might lead to Charles Keating and the Keating Five, of which McCain is one. I'm really surprised that McCain can still walk with as many times as he has shot himself in the foot!
It's not really how much he makes that matters, it's who he associates with, isn't it? I mean, isn't that what they've been saying about Obama? I want to make sure this is fair and it seems to me that if Obama's loose association with Bill Ayers is fair game, Joe the Problem, er, Plumber's not so loose association with Charles Keating might also be of interest. Unless, of course, it's no longer vogue to smear a candidate based on who he knows and how well he might know him.

11. If he is not going to buy the business because of a few % tax....... |
|
increase then he is either an idiot, or the business isn't worth what he is paying. Let me get this straight. Keep my current job making around 50K because if I make 250K then I won't be taxed at 34% but at 39% ( or whatever the actual percentages are) and will have to pay a little more in taxes. Note to Joe. Keep your current job because you don't think like someone that will make a success of that business.

13. I don't even think he makes $100,000. |

Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 09:27 AM by OurVotesCount-Ohio
Someone on here(sorry I don't have the link it was late last night) heard him on a radio interview. I'd see him on a Couric video/telephone interview(the one with his Sammy Davis Jr. tap dancing reference) when he was saying he was concerned that Obama might decide to raise taxes on $100,000 and he couldn't afford anymore taxes.

14. He's an employee, the sole employee of a two man business. |
|
He hopes to one day own a business and thinks he might make over $250,000 when he does, but he's out of his mind. If he builds it up and runs 10-20 plumbers under his business, he might make $250,000 as actual income, after expenses.
He's your run of the mill big mouth who will never make anything close to $250K per year, but he doesn't want high taxes if he ever gets there.
