Damn it Joe I love him but sometimes he is a JERK
Why the fuck did he say this especially now?

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/10/biden-to-suppor.html

First of all he cannot know and noone can whether there will be any additional international crisis beyond the current ones
between Jan 20 2009 and Jul 20 2009.

And he cannot know whether that particular crisis if it occurs at all will require any unpopular decision.

11. What truth?
How can you call something the truth that hasn't even happened?

I understand what Biden wanted to say. It's just that he said it in a way that the morons in this country (i.e. most voters) will easily interpret as
"if Obama will be president terrorists will attack again to test him".

You don't learn from anything?
Most Americans are stupid. And horribly stupid at that. Try to read Biden's remarks as if you were one of those ignorant rednecks.

16. He's being realistic; we live in a dangerous world. He might just
be trying to share that he and Obama will be able to handle it.

19. Yes that's what he wanted to say I don't have any doubt about that
But he should understand that the audience is not exactly full of people who are capable of nuanced reasoning.

4. Seems there is a crisis of some sort
every other month. That may be why he said it. Just because the other side likes to take whatever is said and twist it doesn't mean we need to play into their game.

17. The problem is that the "other side"
in this case may very well be most voters who tend to be paranoid and nationalist. I.e. morons.

29. The die-hard other side that are paranoid
and nationalist (AKA Morons) were not going to vote for Obama anyway. In their eyes he is too inexperienced, pals with terrorist, wasn't born in the US, is a socialist, communist or *ist word of the day, the most liberal senator, foreign, different, untrustworthy, elite or whatever the code word/phrase for black is at any minute of the day. I know I left some out but it is hard keeping up with the phrase of the day to excuse their racism.
The rest of us will vote for Obama because he has shown he has a spine of steel and can stay steady while everyone around him is whirling in the storm of whatever crisis is happening. I am hoping that the majority of voters (and a huge majority) that turn out will over whelm the numbers of morons that turn out.

5. I'm not worried. Bush will be gone & McCain will recede back into the Senate minority.

If there is any crisis, Obama/Biden will handle it better than these GOP numb-nuts have for 8 years.

6. Well, considering the mess the rest of the world is in and the wars abroad..
I wouldn't doubt that Obama will be tested and I don't doubt that it will suck.. I don't think he was indicating that we should or will have another massive attack.. but we've already seen attacks abroad.. embassy, hotel.. Its still a mess out there.

22. Why? Do you really think that most Americans understood what Biden
wanted to say?

You have to be extremely careful 14 days before election day. Especially with the media we have. Biden should understand that. Obama does.

14. He's right
And it's good to get that out there. This is not going to be pretty. Biden is right on here, and it's important that people see what's coming. We can't fully imagine how it will all pan out, but we know that with everything that's facing us, Obama is in for a rough ride.

We can also forget all that "unitary executive" crap. That's no longer going to be operative. That's only operative when a GOPiggie is in office. They will hound Obama tooth and nail from the day he takes office.

Wow, I'm defending Joe Biden. What have I done with myself? And who am I?

15. It's not a gaffe to point
out the obvious. Really, who do you want handling the next international crisis? They guy who's been attached to the same failed policies of the past 8 years or the guy who inspires people from around the world to once again have respect and admiration for America?

A global crisis will demand global cooperation. Obama can muster up that support. McNuts cannot.

Gaffe my ass.

18. I think it is safe to say there will be a major international crisis...
There is always an international crisis going on somewhere, hell the crisis in Darfur has been going on for some time now and is unlikely to end before inauguration day. An international crisis is never easy to solve and will always require some tough decision making, and often the best decision will be very unpopular. I would trust Obama to make the right decision a hell of a lot more than I would trust McCain, but no matter who gets in we need to tell them that we want to find ways to solve our problems peacefully.

20. Well, let's look at the list, shall we?
Global economic crisis
Global warming
Peak oil
Iran Nuclear Issues
North Korea Nuclear Issues
Middle East (as usual)
Russia flexing it's oil muscles

And those are just the ones WE know about. I am sure he and Obama as well as McCain and Palin have been briefed about potential national security problems for 2009.

Get a grip. Biden knows what he's talking about.

27. I have to agree with you Livelong. Joe gave a little too much ammo.
I heard the wingnut pundits hitting this hard trying to make it sound as if Biden is admitting that an Obama presidency will be the cause an international crisis. Of course, wingnut followers will believe the bull. I just hope things like this don't sway any of the undecided.
