A Possible Senate Candidate? |
|
As I'm watching Rachel Maddow every night (almost), I hear her occasionally refer to her home being in MA.
Two things we know today are that Barack Obama might possibly be looking at John Kerry for a potential cabinet post and that (sadly) Ted Kennedy is nearing the end of his Senate career.
I, for one, think that Rachel Maddow would make a GREAT Senator. I think that she'd be a gadfly to the imhoffs, brownbacks and roberts of the senate. She would be representing one of the most staunchly Democratic states in the union, so they'd hardly be able to get rid of her. I think she has the skill and intelligence to be able to represent her state with the same dedication and effectiveness as the man she'd be replacing.
On top of that, she'd drive the fundies NUTS (not that they're not there already)!
On the other hand, she's doing quite well where she is now, thank you.
I'd love to see it happen when the need arises. What do you think?
PEACE!

1. I think she LOVES what she's doing now, and wouldn't give it up! |

Right now, she's in a position to be heard much more than she would as one of 100 Senators, and I think she has the ability to be more influential than a junior Senator.

...but it's a nice thought, seeing the fundies tearing their hair out, doesn't it?
