I don't like Palin at all but what is this crap again about clothes |
|
and costs. Look at how much money has been spent on both of these campaigns and that is an abomination. Campaign finance anyone.
What will the next election cost and I don;t like the idea at all of being able to buy an election. Look at all the wealthy politicians in both parties , there is something really wrong with this picture.
The entire mindset that seems so acceptable is obscene.

It's for the most prestigious position in the world.
But color me surprised that you're complaining about the Palin story. Hey, do you EVER feel good?

9. That's crap , there is no hidden implication here |
|
I am talking about the money and the same tactics, but most of all the hypocrisy. Not what you allude to as if both parties have the same platform or ideas.

14. I understand you're not generalizing |
|
about policies. But you're letting Palin off the hook on the question of clothing expenses by subsuming it into a larger issue...it's just I'm not sure she deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one.

7. There are several questionable decisions made regarding the sloth displayed by her "makeover" ... |
|
...first off the RNC paid for it, seemingly choosing to spend $150,000 on a temporary makeover instead of on close election races.
Secondly, her entire reputation is one of a "regular American," who is able to understand how people would feel in an economy that is crumbling in slow motion.
Which is also the third point, the seemingly disinterested nature of such a shopping spree during a time of economic uncertainty.
So, it's not just about clothes, it's about the air of Marie Antoinette now lingering about her.

15. I realize that. However |
|
This is the same tactic used against the $400 dolla haircut or the new Edwards home by the repubs during the campaigns.
So to fight back we feel the need to stoop to their level. Palin is screwing herself , why should we lower the bar to their level and bring this out.
it just seems like a side track and a waste of time to me. IMHO.

18. Not quite the same, I don't think. |
|
Presumably, Edwards paid for those haircuts and that house himself. Palin, at least on paper, is a millionaire. She could have and should have paid for these clothes herself. That to me, is the worst aspect of the story.

23. Also, there were details regarding the "Edwards" haircut that were left out of the myth, like ... |
|
... the stylist charged that much to come to where Edwards was, instead of him going to a salon. It was a "house call" (or airport call IIRC).

17. Yes , I understand that , but. |
|
This just adds to disraction. It may have some affect on the population who need to find simplistic reasons to be swayed against Palin. Those who watch american idol or find these things of political instruments as an attack tactic . But over all it is crap and brings the issues into the fog. It lowers the entire election to a new low mentality.
I just look at the beginning of this sort of thing and the original source of how this all became part of the focus in an election. Besides all the name calling like McSame and Obamanits or Hillbots. Are we now back in 3rd grade , is this the best we can do and is this what we have come to , how do other countries who once looked at america as a leader look at this childish behavour?

I don't think nearly enough has been spent on clothing for the Sarah. The more the better. How about some Minolas? Gucci bags? A gal running for VP can never have too much Dior to tote around on the bus.
Real Americans unite! Dig deeper, and make sure she doesn't have to wear the same outfit more than once.

20. I don't get the constant implications that she is attractive, or remotely interesting. |
|
On her very best day, in extremely kind lighting, she is painfully average.
In reality, she's masculine, and way too heavily made up, with Peg Bundy hair.
Why anyone pays one iota of attention to her appearance is beyond me, and seems like another media manipulation. I have seen better looking women working at most of the department stores in my local mall.
