Woman Attacked At ATM, Assailant Carves Letter Into Her Face

PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.

Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.

Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.

the whole thing just doesn't pass the smell test. It's first leaked on Drudge - who has a history of this same sort of repuke operative tactic. Read Joe Conason's book about the Clinton smear - Drudge was right in there posting anything Ann Coulter (who was working as a lawyer at this point) could make up about Clinton.

I am no great Clinton fan, but Drudge is scum and there is no reason to believe anything coming from his site without independent verification.

If this person was mugged for 60 bucks, I highly doubt the person who did so was in any way associated with Obama or the democratic party. However, this is being made the central focus in a contested state with a fair amount of racists.

I simply find it rather odd that your focus seems to be on reactions when reactions are based upon long-standing knowledge of republican b.s. What about Jessica Lynch? Did you know the U.S. media refused to tell the truth about that lie until at least 6 months after the truth was reported on the U.K., for instance? Or what about Greg Palast's report that Chavez was going to be the victim of a coup plot supported by the U.S.? This was reported in the UK in Jan. of 2002. The coup occurred in April. The U.S. news media covered the story as though it were a great moment for Venezuela... until the coup was undone by the people on Venezuela.

I'm no great Chavez fan, but the bullshit that passes for reporting in the U.S. is pitiful. And that's why there is so much doubt about this story.

I watched the news on WTAE, Channel 4 in Pittsburgh this morning.

Anyway, aside from the fact that this woman's story keeps changing, she had the letter "B" lightly scratched on the right side of her face backwards. In other words, it was scratched on her face exactly like it would be if a right-handed person was looking in a mirror and scratching a "B" on her own face.
