Zadok The Priest by George Freidrich Handel. AMAZING piece of music that will perfectly illustrate the absolutely unmitigated sense of joy I will feel when Obama is declared President-elect. Listen to it below...the fireworks don't start until about 2:07 minutes.

Sorry...don't know how to embed youtube vids here:

I love to jog to it - it is so uplifting and just makes me happy. Having it to celebrate Barack Obama becoming president, brings tears to my eyes!

5. It was written for the coranation of one of the English kings....
Which one escapes me at the moment. It was also played at Queen Elizabeth's coronation. And while I surely realize Obama isn't a monarch, the piece still perfectly captures the mood my psyche will be in on Nov. 5.

13. "Ode to Joy" at max volume. Followed by Marian Anderson...
...singing "Soon-a Will Be Done" and "Were You There," followed by Paul Robeson singing "Ol' Man River" and "Balm in Gilead," followed by Louis Armstrong singing "What a Wonderful World and wrapping up with Satchmo belting "When the Saints Go Marching In."

Yeah.

I'm a-gonna celebrate, alright.

happily,
Bright

14. My Election day Playlist
Subject to change per vote stealing/

If the GOP actually admits defeat:
1) "I Feel Good" by James Brown. Seriously, we have to put in some James brown for this day, as we know he would be crying tears of joy if she could see this.

2) "The Rising" by Bruce Springsteen. Frankly, this song could qualify to be our anthem right now.

3) "Democracy" by Leonard Cohen. The chorus says it all "Democracy is coming to the U.S.A!"

4) "Give Peace a chance", by John Lennon. Do I need to explain why?

5) "Star-Spangled Banner" Jimi Hendrix. We will show we are as American as anyone else, just not THEIR version of American.
and last, far from least..

"happy Days are here again" the official Democrat victory song.

If the GOP tries some Bulls--t

1) "Fight the Power", Public Enemy. Let the enemy know we are going to start off by getting in their face.

2) "Are you gonna go my way?" by Lenny Kravitz. Let me explain this one:

The Gop will not win unless they push some of our more wobbly elements, we will need to ask people just where the F--K they actually stand. The GOP cannot win unless the "undecided" folk LET them win. All those people saying "well, would John really be all that bad?" types, those that say you have some "vague misgivings" about Obama, that we know are not vague at all, but clear as BLACK and WHITE, those who wobble between blue and very RED shades of purple, that means you! The Right wing will NOT be the sole target of my Wrath, because I know that at this point, there simply are NOT enough them them in America to even pretend to win an election!

3) "Sweet Neo-Con" by the Rolling Stones. In this song, Mick and company slam the neo-cons better than even Michael Moore could.

4) "A hard rain's gonna fall" By Bob Dylan. We need to be prepared for the worst, and to make it clear that there will be consequences for what the GOP had done to and with our country.

5) "Burn Down the Mission" by Elton John. This is a song directed at all the Holy Rollers, making clear that our days of being polite and turning the other cheek are OVER!. Not that I would ever advocate setting some of the Mega Churches/Fortresses on fire, but only because, sure enough, "God" would only allow some innocent folk to get killed and protect the crass, stupid sheep. On the other hand, scrutinizing them, following the inevitable abuse of taxes and funds, and doing everything possible to put them out of business (and they ARE a business, like the Mafia), is all GOOD.

and finally:

"We shall overcome" by Bruce Springsteen. We will need this shot of courage spiked with a bit of HOPE. The powers will be will do everything they can to bury hope in this election. Expect every pundit from the Democrats in name Only to Rush to make so many "audacity of hope" jokes that you may want to throw your books out the window. Don't, we will need hope more than we ever did before.
