I almost want McCain/Palin to win to have to deal with their own mess
economically, except that I know it would cause so much more suffering, as the two nitwits screwed up the economy even more than it is now. I just know, though, that a President Obama is going to get the blame for all of the economic ills coming our way. I think his presidency will help, but we cannot expect an overnight turnaround, and the 50% of ill informed Americans will blame him.

And also Bill Clinton.

Makes life easier for them I guess.

2. The last thing in the world I'd want is for Sarah Palin to have some kind of validation
for her idiotic, provincial, and just plain crazy worldview.

3. I know - but they are not going to reap what they have sown
Obama is going to have to, and that bothers me.

5. Me, too...the moment he's inaugurated, the past 8 years will vanish
and EVERYTHING will be his fault, or Bill Clinton's, or the Democratic Congress, or Jimmy Carter's. Repukes NEVER get blamed for anything and Democrats NEVER get credit for all the good they do. The mainstream media will instantly begin with headlines like "OBAMA OFF TO SHAKY START," "A ONE-TERM PRESIDENT?" "FELLOW DEMS QUESTION OBAMA'S JUDGMENT" ... et cetera ad nauseam.

they are a mess...

their strategic tactics are of no use for this country.

12. I know the country would collapse under M/P
but they would get the blame, not Obama. That is my only reason for thinking this - I pray every day, and give money, and I am going to NH next weekend to work for Obama/Biden!

6. rough road no doubt
for Obama when he becomes president. I have a lot more faith in Obama to get us through this mess. I recently saw a campaign rally for him where he brought a handful of governors into florida where they addressed the job situation. I see Obama using the chain of command so to speak to get feedback and suggestions to help him guide us through this mess.

I can easily see a rise in social and economic awareness groups under Obama's presidency where people and communities come together in an attempt to find solutions and suggestions with the confidence that if a viable solution where to be developed within these small communities, it will be taken seriously by the local congressman/woman.

Under the Bush Administration I have no confidence whatsoever that it would even have been read.

7. My brother made this same argument in '04
He was so upset about half the country being ignorant, he thought only four more years of Bush would tank the economy enough to get through to people. It could be argued that it worked out that way. If people can't connect the dots and see what Bush's policies do to us, I don't think they ever will.

8. Although they tried to Blame Clinton for all the world's ills he left
office with an approval rating above 60% and an excellent record on economic/domestic issues. The proof is in the pudding and it has been proved beyond any doubt that Republicans just don't know what they are talking about and have no clue how to govern the country for the people..Obama and the Democrats will do just fine and within the first two years we will see a remarkable turn around on all fronts.

10. me too, but for a different reason...
Me too, but for a different reason: Tina Fey would have four years of comedy gold to mine from. Her shtick as Palin has finally outshone Dan Akroyd's Nixon.
