Please remind me why we trust the Secret Service to protect my man. |

Is it because they are civil servants and not political appointees?
I am haunted by Musharraf protecting Bhutto.
Shiver.

he was called off by superior(s), no?
I'll also never forget PBS explaining away the head going back as the bullet hit. Had a BS demo of a chalk filled skull on a ladder or something. The puff cloud went back toward the shooter. uhhh... I never contributed or watched again.
OBAMA needs 2 independent rings of security. Don't be lulled into complacency by all the love WE have for you Obama.

Did anyone hear of the email that has been circulating around to police departments (via personal emails) about how Obama and Michelle are anti-police and make them hide so the won't see them? A police officer showed me and I was almost enraged. It is clearly circulating to inflame officers to be sure they don't vote Obama but this goes beyond that and if elected the police in Michigan could perhaps be tainted.
The email said she visited a high school in Macomb County on Oct 9 but (as far as I can tell) she was there on the 2nd. It basically says they are instructed to avert their eyes and hide. It reportedly originated from a Clinton Township officer but this does not mean it is true just that someone has infiltrated emails of police officials in surrounding counties.
Very scary.

4. No policeman would ever take such an idiotic email seriously. |
|
The idea that one of their chiefs would even consider issuing such an order is laughable.

I had to show flaws to have him rethink it. This is a good person, and yes he is Republican. He normally is a very civic minded and caring person but it upset him. I think the racial aspects are very deep and very undercover.

3. OK.. .how about this for a reason: |
|
Most government workers despise Bush, Cheney and all the rest of those clowns, but were they disloyal to them? No. Because they are committed to serving this nation, regardless of their personal feelings about the people presently in office. Nowhere is that more true than in the case of the Secret Service. These are people who put their lives on the line every day for this country. For one of them to fail in his or her duty would be unthinkable for them. They have prevented any successful attempt on the life of the president ever since the 1960s, and that includes 12 years of Democratic presidents.
Does that help?

5. Really? These are the same people that tore Amy Goodman's press pass |
|
off after she was cuffed for asking to speak to a CO.
The same people that had people tossed from Bush events because of their t-shirts and bumberstickers.
It's not even possible to say, the grunts do their job and the power structure is controlled by Bush because the attitude is handed down and results in actions like Amy Goodman being assaulted for no reason.
Trusting any federal law enforcement type after eight years of Bush corruption is just foolishness, imo.

10. Were those Secret Service or Republican Party employees? |
|
Not that it matters. The question was why we should trust the SS to protect Obama. And the answer is the same: because it is their job, one they take great pride in.

11. It was the Secret Service Office run by the Bush administration. |
|
And, I'm sorry, I've known too many Spaniards. I don't trust people who "take great pride" in ripping press credentials off of a fifty year old woman.
