Should this site remain Democratic UNDERGROUND after 11-4?
I mean, after all, it doesn't look like we're going to be much of an underground anymore. More like Democratic Majority. ;)

7. Yes. The odds of us liking what the Congress and Obama do are
slim. Imagine my surprise if this isn't the case! It would be an amazing thing if the name was changed for valid reasons, finally. Sounds like a nightmare to the admins, but just imagine!

9. I agree
We will still be "underground" in the sense that things won't become all that much more progressive (the only way it will happen is if something is done about the corporate media and Dennis Kucinich is elected President :P) although I can hope. As such, we will remain a group pushing for change in a progressive/left direction outside of the mainstream. Too many democrats may become complacent if Obama wins (I really think they are going to steal it again) but we have to ALWAYS remember that the Neocons planned this gradual coup for 30 - 50 years. They would be happy to see the world return to serfdom as long as they are the land owners. They are ruled by greed and sadism and will raise their children and grandchildren, etc, to be the same way. They will never forget and they will never give up. We cannot lower our guard for a minute unless we can codify certain protections into the Constitution (like corporations aren't people, what a woman does with her reproductive organs is between her and her doctor, and what adult people who love each do consensually in their bedrooms is none of the government's business) and even then we need to always watch and be aware.

Even if you're a majority you need an underground hidden from the enemy constantly working to maintain a majority.

23. Will Dennis Kucinich still be the crowd favorite?
If we win both houses of congress and the presidency, then comes the reality. The Blue Dogs in the House and the senate rules will limit the ability of the government to move too far too fast.

It's been mainstream since '04, in my opinion.

29. Yep.
When I started reading the board in '02, I was more mainstream than many of those I met.

Today, I am the "extremist," the "looney left," the "fringe."

I haven't shifted my positions at all during that time. The board has moved far enough that I've just become outside the collective "we."

30. I think we still represent, mostly, a minority within the Democratic Party.
I think a lot of our ideas will still be marginalized and the Underground title will still be apt.
