"goodness gracious" he said as he took the stage

In Colorado, Obama reveled in his largest U.S. crowd to date, with local police estimating that "well over" 100,000 people packed Denver's Civic Center Park and stretched even to the distant steps of the state Capitol. The enthusiastic sea of people prompted a "goodness gracious" from Obama as he took the stage. Another enormous swarm - an estimated 45,000 to 50,000 - greeted him in Fort Collins later on the perhaps aptly named Colorado State University lawn; it's known as "The Oval."

In Cedar Falls, Iowa, McCain campaigned before a much smaller audience, roughly 2,000 people, and chided his Democratic rival: "He's measuring the drapes. ... I prefer to let voters have their say. What America needs now is someone who will finish the race before starting the victory lap."

2. I know I would. That must be quite a sight.
The first thing I'd say on Nov. 5th?

"Drapes look fine, let's get to work."

6. If I were a McCain supporter -- I'm not, but I'm going to ask it anyway -- I'd be wondering...
...what the hell McCain was doing in Iowa at this stage.

9. He is so non egotistical. I think he is genuinely surprised that so many
people would actually show up to hear him speak. I do not feel it is a 'put on' in any way. I think he feels he has a genuine mission to improve our country and heal it's problems as much as he can. :dem:

10. 100,000 or 50,000 vs 2,000 - how can the polls even be remotely close
at this point?

14. Democrats are fundamentally different than Repukes
We are more engaged in the process and tend to express ourselves more overtly.

We will always have bigger crowds, regardless of the state of the race.

13. They're Predicting 500,000 In Chicago On Election Night...
I saw a local report that said the CPD is preparing for one of the largest parties in years at Grant Park...the reporter said the city is preparing for a half-million very happy Obama supporters to converge on the park is he wins the election. That's only about half the crowd that showed up to see Pope John Paul in '79, but still it sounds like its gonna be a great time.

This should be a fun week to watch the crowds. I'm hoping the Obama campaign finishes up with some large rallies...and it's been amazing and exciting to see such huge crowds in places like St. Louis, Albuquerque, Denver and Kansas City...taking it into the heart of what was once "Red States"...I get a feeling not much longer.

Cheers...
