Palin's off-script comments irk McCain aides
Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 12:59 PM by MessiahRp
From Dana Bash

(CNN) -- Some aides to Sen. John McCain say they weren't happy that running mate Sarah Palin went off script Sunday and turned attention back to the controversy over her wardrobe.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin deviated from her prepared remarks to talk about her wardrobe controversy Sunday.

The Alaska governor on Sunday brought up the recent reports regarding the Republican National Committee's $150,000 spending spree on clothing and accessories for the Palin family.

Palin denounced talks of her wardrobe as "ridiculous" and declared emphatically: "Those clothes, they are not my property."

"Just like the lighting and the staging and everything else that the RNC purchased, I'm not taking them with me," she said at a rally in Tampa, Florida.

A senior McCain adviser told CNN that those comments "were not the remarks we sent to her plane." Palin did not discuss the wardrobe story at her rally in Kissimmee, Florida, later in the day.

-snip-

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," this McCain adviser said. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

BWAHAHAHA!!

Who didn't see this coming? The Neo-Cons wanted her, convinced McCain to take her and strutted her out there as their star of the future.

Ladies and Gentleman get ready for Obama vs. Palin in 2012.

2. I'm watching the McCain rally in Ohio right now...
and Cindy looks like she's gonna go outside and milk cows! very toned-down, no pearls. It's not a good look. p.s. I'm watching to monitor hate speech.

3. It doesn't matter if she's taking the clothes with her or not.
The point is that the RNC is wasting $150,000 in contributed money on shopping sprees at Saks, for God's sakes.

Just more proof that the Republicans waste money.

10. It's proof Republicans don't know how to shop.
Frankly, they shop like men.

And why didn't anyone have the brains to make an arrangement with a hungry, up and coming designer?

5. By 2012, she's going to be damaged goods ...
I'm sure her approval ratings in Alaska have been hurt by
her involvement with the BombBomb campaign (Alaskans were
NOT AMUSED by the way the McLame people basically "took over"
government of the state while Failin has been on the trail),
and as oil prices drop, so will those checks she likes to dole
out. Look at what's been dug up about her in the short time
she's been on the ticket -- give the media 4 years to more
fully vet her and see if the party will want to take a chance
on her again.

9. I Agree
Palin has cast a big spotlight on the fracture in the Republican party. The "Reagan" style conservatives vs this new breed of religious nutter neo cons. Web sites like Free Republic continue to demonstrate how big the devide is (they mostly don't like McCain, but love Palin). I'd love to take on Palin in 2012. She'd get crushed. Her negatives are already going through the roof and moderates/indies don't seem to like her much.

6. To McCain, Palin is equivalent to the lighting, staging, and clothing
She's just an accessory or prop that he needs at the moment, to satisfy the fundie nuts. She isn't there to establish her own political career. Palin apparently doesn't realize this.

7. They don't like it when someone doesn't walk in lock-step with the party line.
Sort of hurts "catapultin' the propaganda".

8. She's going rogue!
Ah, memories of many nights playing "Supremacy" in college:

"Dude! You can't do that! We have a treaty!"

"F**k it! I'm going rogue. I'm going rogue."

12. Bwahahahaha! The rest of the story is even more damaging!

They admit she's a know-nothing buffoon. Her lack of knowledge "concerning key issues was dramatic."
