Voting-Rights Groups Sue NM GOP, Alleging Voter Intimidation

By Zachary Roth - October 27, 2008, 2:19PM

ACORN has announced that it's assisting in two lawsuits filed against the New Mexico Republican GOP, alleging voter intimidation. The ACLU and Project Vote -- a group that's been described as an ACORN affiliate -- are filing suit in state court, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) is suing in federal court, according to Matthew Henderson of ACORN's New Mexico office*.

2. They want to talk about voter fraud, but...
they don't want to talk about voter intimidation or vote counting fraud.

3. After reading through the links, I found this...
"The registration cards that were filled out had no social security numbers, drivers license numbers or birthdates for the voters."

Are voters in NM required to provide SSN and birth dates? I checked, and here in WV
these items are required by law in order to vote. If it's required in NM, then it
is not clear to me how one could vote without it.
