Charlie Crist extending the hours for early voting? |
|
What Am I Missing? Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) just announced that he's extending the hours for early voting in his state. That seems notably, even surprisingly, non-partisan and inclusive. Is there a catch? http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/240575.php

1. I thought Crist sort of bailed on McStupid a ways back--didn't show up at |
|
his campaign events, etc.

3. Ah. I had read reports that he had skipped some rallies. Well, I still appreciate |
|
his action about the early voting.

I like to derisively remind folks that our Presidential candidate votes to the right of Sen. Robt. Byrd of WV, but Charlie Christ is truly an enigma. "This is what I would do if my party would agree..." is paraphrased but I've heard it's like 3-4 times since he took office.
For a politician, Charlie seems a decent type who chose to ride elephants because they were cheap when he started his career. Remember that Florida is a traditionally old money Democratic milieu and would have stymied Charlies' political aspirations for his personal preferences and piccadillos.
Today's Democratic Party is more inclusive and tolerant but the party of Claude Pepper and Dempsey Barren wouldn't have given Crist a second thought if he wasn't at the annual quail hunt in Bonifay...with a spouse, or a date. Just sayin...
