Poll question: What explanation will be given for the "seismic shift" in poll numbers toward McCain?
We have all been expecting the GOP to pull some election fraud. And we all knew that in order for it to work, the poll numbers need to be closer.

So, now we see the poll numbers are getting closer.

So, what outside factor will the GOP-controlled media use to explain how this "seismic shift" occurred?

7. Election fraud...big difference!
Yes, the GOP is doing everything they can to keep voters from the polls.

They always do that shit. This time it won't work. :smoke:

23. Proof that you either don't know what you're talking about, or
you're in the wrong place, or both.

ACORN is not committing "voter fraud". They are required by law to turn in every application they receive and they have been alerting authorities about "questonable" applications. In any event those fake applications will be rejected and have no impact on the vote.

I can't deny that some Democrats have perpetrated fraud, but the GOP has made an art out of it. If you have been paying any attention at all, you would know that. So if you want to stay, you might want to do a little research before you make a fool of yourself.

You can either pick one of the choices provided, or give one of your own.

You can't even do that; you must have mistaken DU for some pizza place.

And though I initially was going to vote for Barr, I voted McCain by absentee ballot

Of course, I am sympathetic to a variety of Democratic issues, but gun rights sealed the deal. I like some forum diversity, so here I am. Thanks for the warm welcome. ;)

41. If you bothered to fact-check, you'd realize Obama is closer to your views...
For example, Obama has said that the War on Drugs is a failure, marijuana should be decriminalized, and that he wouldn't prosecute medical marijuana patients.

And he's not realistically going to be able to push through any legislation that would restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens. Not that he wants to anyway.

Oh well. Too late for you. Bye.

28. I was simply quoting another DUer, who was quoting Dick Morris in Newsmax.
Normally, I couldn't care less what the GOPers and their media say, but they seem to be pushing it and "have" poll numbers to "support" their claims.

32. You're correct, of course, but ...
... this is the GOP's mythology that they're pushing to their faithful: "the gap in the polls is shrinking!"

I'm just wondering not so much how they're doing it, but what excuse they'll use to sell it to their Kool-aid drinkers.

43. I know. Everything the GOP says is based on false premises.
But, this is what they're pushing to their faithful and this is what several people on DU have warned about: before the voting machines can be "adjusted" to show a "McCain win" the poll numbers have to get closer.
