It's been a long haul and tonight we're apt to see a broad sweep of Democratic gains nationwide. And a President elect named Obama.

Welcome to the new Democratic majority. This is it. We have a diverse range of opinions and approaches as far as governing goes, yet we're on the cusp of turning things around.

Today is not the end all and be all, but it starts today.

onions,sweet
cornmeal,yellow
Ham,country
eggs,brown
milk,Half and Half
flour,unbleached white
salt
sugar
baking powdecooking oil or bacon drippings

Cook Pinto in water with country ham and onions

put cornmeal,flour,salt,baking pwder, and touch sugar in large mixing bowl. make well in center
break three eggs into well, add half and half and oil
stir well and pour into baking pan or preferably cast iron skillet
bake at 375 until toothpick comes out clean

Let's eat!

All too often, it is forgotten that it is the members of DU that make this place what it is. Each and every one of you should be proud of this night and and all you've done in the past to bring this election to fruition.

Make no mistake, we are here to serve you, and i for one am proud to be a part of this family.

We are about to enter a new age, let us all work to ensure this is an age of reason, truth and dignity, something we've lost over the past &+ years.

DU has helped me keep my sanity. Like Maddezmom I'm nervous and worried a bit (thanks to 2000 and 2004) but I have so much more hope and a real feeling that positive change is on it's way this time.

I can't imagine anywhere I'd rather spend Election night except perhaps in Chicago of course. :)
