And even if he gets in, he will soon be tossed out, according to the Alaska Pol they were speaking to.

4. And the Dem's will make little effort to remove him |

granted it would take a 2/3rds vote but they could effectively cut him out if he won't step down. Elected officials need to stop seeing themselves as a group that needs to band together. If they want the privilege of self governing their own then they need to do it with no reservations or excuses.

5. Let's count the votes first! Nonetheless, this situation bespeaks volumes. |

The reason the Republicans are known as the Corrupt Bastards Club is not because there are a few bad elected apples. It is a culture, and this too will now change.
Meanwhile, my first thought was, "Who in Alaska tends to vote early and absentee?" The answers can be used to predict the outcome. Armed forces are voting Obama, for example. Deep rural may be Uncle Teddy fans. So, who are they?
"... Sen. Ted Stevens .... there are about 50,000-60,000 outstanding early and absentee ballots -- only 20 percent of which were cast before Stevens was convicted Oct. 7 for making false statements on his financial-disclosure forms, according to a Democratic official in the state. Stevens, the longest-serving Republican in history, would face the possibility of expulsion from his Senate seat if he wins the election and refuses to resign.
