I really want to be a good winner. Magnanimous. Cheerful and inclusive. |
|
But I can't stop gloating and I don't give a fuck.
Maybe tomorrow my liberal heart will start once again to bleed.
Or maybe the next day.
But today ............. it is ice water.

1. Yeah, although it WOULD - and perhaps WILL - be good if we all work on improving America, |
|
blah blah blah, I'm still far too angry at the 8 horrible years of Bushdom, the horrible McCain/Palin campaign, and the meanness of everyday Republicans in in recent years to be so damn forgiving and inclusive... YET.

4. Besides which it is not something that is in their playbook. |
|
I think they see magnanimousness (is that a word???) as capitulation and weakness.

How about we all gloat until January 20th, 2009 and then really put the Bush years behind us. I am as guilty as anybody in playing the us vs them game but I think, as President Obama suggested, we need to put the divisive stuff behind us and work on building a better future for everybody. If there are those on either side that can't bring themselves to stop the sniping I think I will just put them on "permanent ignore" and I don't mean just online.

8. We must also learn from history. |
|
Every time we reached across the aisle, we got our fucking hands bitten off.
Gingrich still breathes.
Delay remains unconvicted and unimprisoned.
Opie Putnam is still a mean spirited young fuckwad.
Palin still inspires hatred.
Brad Blakeman still spews venom.
Every shitbrid motherfucker who was evil yesterday is, today, still evil ... and now angry.

We have to find those more moderate Republicans and reach across the aisle to them. Screw the Gingrich crowd. If we help build up the moderate wing of their party by working with them maybe when can rid Congress of the Delay/Gingrich cancer. If they can't learn that the people don't want divisive politics but really want to move forward they will be relegated to a footnote in history.
