America is NOT a "Center-Right Nation". . contrary to corporate media bs |
|
America is at the CENTER. Right where it is is the CENTER.
The American people have been far far far ahead of the Congress and the Media, and the Media will not concede that fact.
Oh yeah... AND
Obama's message did not "speak to the Hispanic Population". . and they aren't responding to this position on immigration or that position on something else...
His message resounds with the sound of the American Ideal. It is the rock on which this Country is built. It grew out of The Enlightenment and speaks to ALL of us.
(TV is really pissing me off today. Can you tell?)

America was born in revolution against established authorities. I think that argues pretty well that we were founded as a liberal nation, and to the extent we have remained essentially the same, continue to be today.

2. well the center ain't where it used to be |

Obama sorta ran as a Reagan Democrat, promising tax cuts just like Reagan did and attacking his opponent for threatening to raise taxes. America is not far enough left to suit me, especially my own frigging congressional district and state are not far enough left to suit me.

3. There’s an old saying that politics in America is played between the 40 yard lines |

It's true. The public shifts left and right within those bounds. The are on our side of field for now.

5. anything left of neocon fascist is considered too liberal |

lately by the media. They are all about numbers, and all they care about is numbers and viewers, so they can somehow create an appeal to everyone. If this were Europe, Obama would be considered somewhat right wing.

6. They started pissing me off last night already. |

Seriously, this is what we were up against all along. They are going to spend just as much time talking about Sarah Palin this week, as opposed to the challenges that the country has going forward.
Everything is about race and targeted audiences to them -- you know why? because their jobs revolve around advertising, and they view political arguments as analogues of advertising techniques. It is so deeply cynical, and MISSES THE FUCKING POINT.
Some of the people on our TV are particularly ignorant and a lot of that ignorance was on display last night when all they could talk about was race.
I feel so sorry for the country when I watch these idiots. They have no idea what they are doing, and what their role in the past eight years has been. Fuck them.
Too many names to list.
