Can we discuss how the Bush era sparked an activist revolution?
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 07:41 PM by bigtree
I felt like a forgotten relic in 1998. Outside the very earnest and activist coalitions and movement against 'free trade,' there really didn't seem to be a youth-oriented culture of activism like we have in place and action right now. As the public opposition to the Bush administration grew after the Florida theft; and as the ranks of activists swelled in opposition to the jingoistic expansion of our military abroad, there emerged a generation of Americans who resemble and mirror my own generation in the '70s and whose commitment hearkens all the way back to the activism and cultural revolution of the '60s.

I'm very proud to associate myself with the new revolution which has chosen to involve itself by engaging within the political system as well as challenging it from the outside. Any thoughts?

(note to self: not 'counter')

4. Once we apply our activism within the political system we're challenged
. . . to compromise, as well as fight.

And, we'll be led to compromise by the man we just elected.
