Tom Brokaw today asserted that despite Obama's victory, he'll be governing a nation that's....
.... center-right.

:eyes:

I'm so sick of his pompous, obnoxious ass. I've really grown to despise him over the course of this election, and he was someone I had no feelings about one way or another up until now.

Hijo de puta! :mad:

4. People like him are secret Mussolini worshippers
They long for the old fascism, where the wealthy ruled like men, and the poor had no choice but to kiss their feet.

9. Brokaw says that because he's intellectually dishonest

All you have to do is be awake long enough to review a few polls over the years to know -

the public favors wide spread health care, universal usually;
the public favors environmental protections;
the public never favors going overseas and killing people which was demonstrated by
majorities of Republicans and Democrats opposing the Iraq invasion (until the WMD lies started).

Brokaw knows this because he's reported all these polls over decades.

Letely, he's looked a lot more bought off, however, so f' him. The truth is the truth.

WRONG. We have to stop giving them so much credence. They will eventually atrophy and fade away. Not quickly, but over time. We have more important things to do now.

13. What polls are he pointing to?
when he is saying that we are a so-called "center right" nation? The polls on nearly every given issue consistently reflect a far more liberal/progressive viewpoint- so much so it's amazing that the Republicans have been in power so much.

fu%^$(*%($(ing "corporate whore media"!!!!:mad:

We cannot afford to let them help the Republicans spin, obfuscate, and smear their way back into power and keep Obama (and whoever wants to pitch in) from doing anything good for our country.

We need to start keeping them on a short leash and shouldn't trust them as far as we can throw them. They did just about EVERYTHING they could to help McCain/Palin get elected (thankfully they didn't succeed but might've had McCain run a slightly better campaign IMHO). They are NOT going to stop trying to advance the Republican cause now just because there's no longer a Presidential race on.

20. I agree with that.......but.....
based on U.S. standards, I think the country's in a center-left mood......Which in Canada would be center, and center-right in much of Western Europe.
