That red model would not bode well for my area.

2. I'll second that
It is hoped that the intensity will drop considerably, but they never really forecasted this intensity.

November storms are hard to judge. So anybody in SoFla needs to be ready.

And say a prayer, or whatever, for the Cubans who are getting slammed right now with winds over 100mph.

5. This is the 3rd major hurricane
hitting Cuba this season. They are in my thoughts.

15. It puts it hitting me, too. I'm just a little south of you.
I'm already busier than a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest, and FPL is supposed to increase our work load by 25% soon. If this storm hits... man... I'll never see my house.

4. Wow
Thanks. I have not been following it as I thought it was going to go out to sea after Cuba. I feel badly for Cuba, they have been hit hard this year.

6. I was really surprised to see the new models
Hopefully it will peter out, but keep an eye. One model actually suggests Gulf of Mexico.

13. If it goes according to historic model it's peaking too soon
or so some guy said on CNN this morning. I'm just glad it didn't turn west and slam my friends in Belize. Like you I feel sorry for Cuba. Not a good year hurricane-wise for them.

17. Like most of these rare November hurricanes
it will meander all over the place for a while before we know where it's going or hopefully peter out.

14. I'm leaving for Florida next Saturday (hopefully)
It will be my first vacation since 1983. Well, it will be my first vacation since 1983 IF Paloma doesn't hit there

during the sales and I pick them up at Christmas for the next year's hurricanes.

21. Well, shithello.
I've still got a section of stockade fencing down from the summer we had Charley and three others go right over us. I'm okay if it sticks to the red line, but I guess I'm scrapping my plans to fix that fence tomorrow or it will hit me for sure (kinda like when you wash the car to make it rain). Here's hoping the next cool front has some oomph to it and she just wanders out into the Atlantic to die.

23. Nothing to be overly concerned about -- Cuban mountains / cooler waters will mean
that the storm will be a bunch of rain soon....

24. Thanks for the heads up. I've been watching and this model makes me feel somewhat better....
http://www.crownweather.com/paloma.html

It looks to become a depression, and then a remnant low even though it hooks around weirdly. I see your concern and it need to be monitored.

Scroll down to the noaa model. Your model is there too.
