Senior citizens supported Prop H8. Let's dogpile on old people! (sarcasm) |

Who needs those health care system wreckers and Denny's early bird special eaters, anyway? They think they're so cool with their Social Security and their AARP memberships and their senior discounts. Why, I oughta.... Everybody, get ON their lawn!!!

Don't hurt me!
I voted no on proposition 8.
I don't have a lawn but a lot of thorny rose bushes. :-)

6. As Poitier said in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner": "You and your whole lousy generation... |
|
believes the way it was for you is the way it's got to be. And not until your whole generation has lain down and died will the dead weight of you be off our backs!"

8. To be honest I had to explain Prop 8 here in FL to some seniors who |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 02:24 PM by monmouth
were absolutely clueless. Granted, it was worded poorly on the write-in ballot, but still, without really reading or understanding what it was or meant, they were just automatically going to vote YES. I think they thought it would cost them something, plus most have no idea about the GLBT world. If it were not for DU, I wouldn't either.
Any way, after telling them it would have no impact on their lives, that we were talking about civil rights for all people, etc. three that I spoke with seemed to agree and said they would vote NO. One old gal who has had more than her share of husbands noted that "the gays should be entitled to be as miserable as I was when married." It loses a lot in translation but your point is well taken. Most seniors were quite uninformed..

14. I don't know who is in charge of the legalese that goes on ballots, |
|
election commission of some sort I'm sure, but that really needs to be changed. Seniors (and I am in my 60s) are lazy. If the wording is too legalese/complicated they'll either ignore it or vote the way their friends tell them to. Losing battle sometimes.

9. Really? Did they donate MILLIONS OF DOLLARS? |
|
Did they pay for a disinformation campaign or were they the victims of one?
Your sarcasm is misplaced. As is your air of superiority.

40-49 year olds voted 59% in favor and they're numerically a bigger cohort so THEY were more responsible than the geezers....I'm still working on a proper punishment. :sarcasm:
