Governor Bill Richardson Should Be Secretary of State.
Of all the names tossed around, not one has the credentials and experience to be Secretary of State that Bill Richardson does.

So if it is experience, then Richardson trumps them all.

And if it is political I.O.U.'s, then Richardson (again) would trump them all.

I have a bad feeling that Obama's inner circle is looking for ways to push away Richardson.

That would be a very bad move. Not only are Latinos watching, so is a sizable number of Democrats.

Experience or I.O.U. or Ability. Richardson should be our Secretary of State.

5. Oh Hell...
John Kerry is gonna have to be the Secretary of State just between Richardson and the Clintons.

Some MAJOR diplomacy is gonna be needed there.

11. I'd like to see John Kerry as Secretary of Defense.
He has the knowledge, the experience and the toughness to run that department. No one could do better other than Wes Clark who I think should head Homeland Defense.

6. I'd hate to lose him as governor
two years ahead of schedule and there are other qualified people.

But yes, it really should be Richardson.

Clinton's name was leaked by HER STAFF, not by anyone on Obama's staff. I'm sure her name has been mentioned in connection with a lot of possible jobs. However, State is just a wee bit too important to trust to someone with less stature than Richardson.

Remember, whoever it is will not only have to fulfill an already challenging job, s/he will also have to repair 8 year's worth of damage by Powell, Bolton, and Rice.

7. I disagree. Wes Clark trumps Richardson in credentials and experience
Richardson is awesome. A statesman. An asset in any administration, but Wes Clark is the best SOS candidate.

8. Wes should head the Homeland Defense Department.
That's where his talents, experience and executive experience along with organizing would be the most helpful to Obama and to our nation.

12. Why ask the question?
I choose not to waste my time. If you are unaware of the General's "experience and credentials" and experiences why they hell are you posting here? I don't offer him for partisan reasons.

Its like asking why is george bush a dumbass?

13. I am unaware except for Bosnia. From the tone of his boosters, it doesn't appear he'd be a great SOS
though.

14. He would be an excellent pick--the best, imo.
He looks best in terms of credentials and experience, as well as in terms of the practicality of leaving certain Senators in their seats where they are needed.

15. Richardson is absolutely the best choice for the job at this time.
I figured the reason he shaved just before the election was for an upcoming job interview.
