GONZO has NOT resigned!
Not yet, anyway. MSNBC is discussing the earlier report discussed in this forum about possible replacements.

I expect Gonzales WILL resign soon, but let's not get too excited.

2. Let him hang around for a while. That way M$M has less excuse
to downplay the story.

4. True.
However, it is likely that the decision has been made. A few days ago, David Gergen said he thought that the Attorney General would resign before he and Rove were pressured to testify. The idea being that the president would be convinced by his attorneys that he needed to sacrifice AG to try to limit the damage.

5. I agree
but blaring headlines here saying "Gonzo is gone!" are misleading, at least at this point. I saw it and thought he had resigned - 'til I read the post and realized I was watching the same exact broadcast, and they were not reporting his resignation - just the politico.com report being discussed here already.

7. Right.
I had on the same channel, and agree fully that it is best to be accurate in posting ..... one can say what was actually reported, and then say, "I think this means _____."

8. Technically, you're correct
but it's been clear for some days now, that Gonzales is out. It really is a done deal, as Tony Snow's limp statement about him today, made clear. (And my bet is that he'll resign tormorrow before noon)

11. I agree
he's a goner. But the headline made ME think his resignation had been announced.

12. O let's go right ahead and get excited. In fact, we're making sandwiches
for the Gonzaleses. In the flurry of packing to leave, it's thoughtful to bring over a plate of sandwiches.

I hope they like crow and mustard on rye.
