You know, if these people's stereotypes about liberals are correct, somewhere there's a gay immigrant being smuggled across the border in the trunk of a Prius, doctoral dissertation written in Arabic in her pocket instead of a Bible, hellbent on replacing that stature of a bull on Wall Street with a statue of Marx made from recyclable materials.

Stop picking on my sister!
She finishes her latte before hugging the tree just to make sure she doesn't burn or stain the tree. She got her 7th abortion first and then burned the flag while the little 'pro-life' girl was holding it outside the clinic. The car she was smuggled in was driven by a guy with priapism. Her doctorate was written in Satanic verse, and it was on how to turn babies gay in the womb... and it's the Washington monument she wants to replace with a foam-peanut sculpture of The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Geez... it's like everyone she talks to has a different version of what she said while she was giving them a lap-dance.

22. HMMM....very "funny". |
|
I suppose you think that making jokes about people who are concerned about losing their jobs and not being able to feed their families is hilarious. And of course you need to assume that their I.Q level is small because their collar is blue and they don't see things the way you do. So let me ask you, if 2.5 million people are out running around with no job or a worse one than they had because the 2008 congress decided to listen to "smart" people like you, what do think happens in 2010? November 2,2010 to be exact. 2.5 million people is a very angry bunch of folks, yes? Especially if they lost their job because their "progressive" friends stabbed them in the back.
Let's see who the fuck laughs then.

23. Might I suggest you climb down from your high dudgeon. |
|
The air is too thin up there, and it's affecting you strangely. I am most certainly not doing any of the things you accuse me of, nor do have the attitudes and opinions you are imputing to me. Elsewhere I have proposed that one of the solutions to the current problems is to put much more control into the hands of blue collar people. My intent was to make fun of people who buy into the Sarah Palin mentality. People who continue to buy the notion that if only the country were conservative enough, everything would be OK. You know--the people who blamed the "liberals" and the antiwar movement for "losing" Vietnam. The ones who applauded Reagan as he destroyed the unions. The ones who believe global warming is a myth, that what's good for GM is good for America, and that if we can only drown the government in the bathtub, Jesus will return.

25. Yes, I understand that... |
|
..but as an autoworker, one who is intimately affected by the current government inaction , it is really a shocking eye-opener to see people saying "let 'em die, let 'em die, let em die" without thinking that if they (we) die a whole portion of the country with good hard-working decent REAL people dies with it. It was like walking into a Freeper convention. And again i must ask what do you think happens in 2010? I'm seeing 1994 all over again because this congress will be reactionary, over reach and put themselves right out power again. We don't want that. So, no i can't laugh about that.

28. I have great sympathy for the plight of the workers. |
|
But I don't particularly think that the bailout or loan or whatever you want to call it is the best answer--first because the automakers are already talking about using the bailout money to transfer more operations abroad, and second, I don't see how enabling bad management is a cure for bad management. The problems in the auto industry are not the fault of the workers, but that doesn't stop the burden from falling upon them. We need some revolutionary thinking and some rapid action to get us out of this one. Th auto workers aren't going to be the only ones caught in this mess before it plays out.

And there have been some fine smart folk whose English was rough and uneducated

having grown up in rural South Dakota where they could only run schools a few months of the year. Those guys were some of the smartest, most creative and resourceful people I ever met. I have often wished for the kind of mechanical genius they displayed.
I wish people would get it that I'm not attacking anybody on the basis of their jobs or their educations.

That offends me. Wait I just got my turn! Now I'm not offended anymore.
You know, I love liberals. They're a bright, smart, passionate, wonderful bunch, but by their very nature they look to make things better, and every one of us has a different idea of what that means. And we tend to be a sensitive bunch, hence why we're always trying to fix things. The PC police kind of come with the territory. You just gotta learn to shake it off.
