The starting gun for 2012 madness
the teaser for Roland Emmerich's end-of-the-world movie.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony/2012/

For the uninitiated, 2012 is a big year in new age, metaphysical,
and milennial circles.

The hype for the next 4 years is going to make 2000 look like
a minor ripple by comparison. In particular because, in a post 911,
post crash world, we're probably going to
be seeing some actual scary events that will bring all
forms of millenial madness out.
My advice, enjoy the movie, (I'm sure I will) but don't bet the far on a pole shift
or saucer landing.

1. Should the end-of-the-world arrive,
I will experience it from a mountain top in wine country with a fine bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cool trailer.

2. Even worse, it's an election year
The end of a Mayan Baktun AND an election for Class I Senators. Apocalyptic indeed!

A pole shift? I think it would be more appropriate to prophesize a poll shift.

I have written a genuine Faux Nostradamus Quatrain in its honor:

Twelfth year, first class,
The Princes walk a hastily-drawn line,
Treachery in red and blue to each side
Red shall fall, even as Blue rises higher in flight.

(Quatrain 106, Century XXIV)

3. I thought this was about Huckabee and Jindal.
They've already begun campaigning.

4. 2012 is a Mayan thing
The fundies adopted it as soon as 2000 didn't pan out. They have no idea how blashemous they are when they try to tie it together.
But that's par for the course.

And the Mayans are not specific. AFIK, There is no indication that the calendar ending is a bad thing.

5. “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven..."
"...nor the Son, but the Father only."

They should try READING the damn thing instead of shoving it in everyone's face.
