Where Are All the Posts About How Shitty Citibanks "Products" Are? |
|
Where's the outrage....how about it? And what about the foreign ownership? Oh yeah, we just reserve those to demean our union brothers and sisters.

2. He was in fact critical for the automakers about not coming with a "plan". |
|
Nothing about citigroup.
I guess they had a plan - "Eat our losses, or we'll force them on you! You won't like us when we're angry."

...And you know it. All we asked for was a LOAN. You know the thing you pay back? Obviously you much rather give the money to the assholes who sit on cushy chairs all day than the people who make stuff. But you wanna know somthing? Come November 2, 2010 you really wont like us when we are angry. You really won't.

I was talking about citigroup in the body of my post.
Obama is the one who criticized the automakers for not having a plan.

The banks have no plan, had no lan and continue on their path of stupidity, while the jobs of the midwest can go to shit. Another thing- this "bailout" was supposed to loosen the credit market, making loans available to businesses, like GM......but oit didn't happen, they just took the money and went on vacation.......

4. I hate Citibank with all my soul after what they did to me. |
|

The adjustable rate student loan they gave me was a form of indentured servitude. I got family members to arbitrate and I pay them back at a low but above inflation fixed rate.
Like my griping would do anything though...

Citibank was given to me by my Grad school as only option if I wanted to continue my studies. The rate was reasonable and I really had no other options save dropping out. The school assured me they would help me find a job (they are the worst at this as I found out) and that it would be easy to pay back...
They jacked it up the moment I graduated to 9+%. Payments of 200$ (on my Stafford) were damn near 420$ for the same amount on the Citibank loan. I was having trouble finding a job and when I did it fell through. They only give so much leeway so it added up. Although I eventually found a decent job 3 years later the loan looked as though it would never get paid off as I couldn't save any money because the payments were so damn high.
They were damn near 500$ a month. 500$ a month. If it were anywhere near reasonable I could have squirreled away money and paid them off quicker...like I said. The only way I could get out from under them (aside arbitrage) was by filing bankruptcy...and since they were "federally approved" student loans (thank you deregulation) the government would pay them off...I however would have to crawl from under bankruptcy. It was, in essence, form of indentured servitude.

13. Wow. That is a terrible story. |
|
And, don't sweat the chick tract thread. Those idiots in the lounge latch onto something it ends up with it's life.
I have to plead ignorance about the student loan stuff. I didn't realize that banks gave them. I thought it was the government. When I was in grad school, I worked as a teacher to pay for it because I knew that if I had to take out a loan, I'd never be able to repay it.
My daughter is in college now, and we're paying for it. For now. Who knows what the future holds? :scared:

1: I told my grad school that if they expect donations they can kiss my ass. The spent all their recruitment programs on a bunch of assholes who tell you to rewrite your resume and then rewrite and then rewrite...instead of getting actual recruiters into the school.
2: Why I told Citibank to never send me anything ever again. I have even canceled something I found out was associated with Citibank. I have become what is known as a "marketing terrorist" in marketing terms. Someone who will not only never buy your products but will actively warn others against it.

9. What about their faulty business model? |
|
We've heard about the "faulty business models" of the big three. Citibank has been bailed out before, and it looked like it was about to go bankrupt over the course of the weekend.
How bad must their "business model" be?
