Traces of melamine found in U.S.-made infant formula: WSJ |
|
http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Traces-melamine-found-US-made/story.aspx?guid=%7BB3ACCAAB-EBC9-4AF5-969B-55A777C504DB%7DThe Food and Drug Administration has found one positive sample of U.S.-made infant formula containing melamine "at very low trace levels," the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition Tuesday. The agency also found melamine in a few samples of nutritional supplements and medical supplements, all made by the five U.S. manufacturers of infant formula, the newspaper said. <not much more>

2. Months after babies died in China, the FDA finally gets around to testing US supplies |
|
The infant formula in China comes from the exact same Chinese factories which supply infant formula in the US. Does the FDA jump on the warning that people are dieing? Of course not.
Months later after most of the melamine infant formula factories have been shut down, the FDA puts out a milquetoast warning which says there is just a small, wee, very tiny amount of very toxic material in the food you give to your infants.
And the FDA wants you to trust them. They are there to protect you they whine.

3. I bet it goes beyond infant formula |
|
There has to be more oversight of Chinese companies in the export food and nutritional supplement industry.
