43. It amazes me anew that America has reached such a low state
of decline, and has such a casual acquaintance with corruption, that we now consider folks true patriots simply for doing their jobs.

But there it is, I guess. :patriot:

2. Write this down in your history books, this is a monumental act ...
... the dye will be cast and there will be no way to avoid a 'constitutional crisis' since there is no way all of these are going to testify.

55. This is a necessary step on the road to impeachment
This took courage and Conyers didn't bat an eye.

Now we'll see how it plays in the courts. Clinton's aides didn't get exempted from testifying because of executive privilege.

If they refuse to talk, they look very bad to the 75% of Americans who aren't goose-stepping yes men. When enough of these people understand what is happening, votes to convict BushCo will materialize in the senate.

Nixon's stonewalling got old quickly.

10. Did I ever tell you that you are my Fav?
Please don't tell the others.

Conyers, Sanchez, Waxman, Leahy, Jay Rockefeller, Pelosi, Schummer, Feinstein,
and others are coming to get bush.

The White House has 2 choices

1) Give them the documents & people that are requested and face impeachment because
the truth will kill those bastards

b) Fight em and don't answer the subpoenas and trigger a Constitutional crises. At the end of
which is their impeachment.

32. The "White House", meaning Bush.....
won't allow it, or so he says. :eyes: He WILL allow Rove and Miers to answer questions behind closed doors but NOT under oath. Oh really, Mr. Bush? Looks like it's time for the subpoenas to start flying. Bush has given the finger to the Constitution one too many times, it's time to pay the piper. Bush knows his administration is guilty as sin and it goes all the way up to him. If it comes to a Constitutional crisis it's of his doing, there's no one else to blame. All of these years he's been used to an Imperial Presidency with absolutely no oversight. Now the worm has turned, or will be turned. The worm being, Bush, of course. :)

I could not be more pleased. Democrats can no lose this one. If they testify they swing, if they don't testify the public sees them for what they are, cowards who are defrauding the people of the United States of America while they wage war across the world. The only problem is that they have already stacked the Court to save themselves.

30. Here's the showdown
I don't think Bush will let Miers or Rove testify. They know WAAAYY too much. He'll do the same thing he did during the NSA wiretap scandal - boldly assert "executive privilege" to break the law & wait it out. But Conyers & Leahy won't give up like the Repuke Congress did.

From the rawstory article:
"Late afternoon, White House counsel Fred Fielding offered to allow Rove and Miers to give unsworn testimony behind closed doors, according to a report on MSNBC, and later confirmed on CNN. The pair would not be testifying under oath, and the White House also doesn't want transcripts made of the testimony."

Those chicken sh!t bastards... I'm so sick and tired of not under oath testimonies. Like Bush / Cheney and events of 911...
