Do the Indian anti-terrorist police seem a little like the Keystone Cops?
It just kind of seems like everyone is all running in different directions with no real plan of action. I seen one Anti-terror guy standing on a balcony today emptying his sub-machine into the building the Jewish American citizens were supposed to be in earlier.

I was wondering what is up with that?

What a mess.

1. I think it is impossible to judge right now...
Until the full story of what went on comes out... Certainly the Indian residents of Mumbai seem to feel their police and military are responding well....

2. I seen a reporter earlier that was there and said the police let her walk right into the hotel lobby
She said she barely got in and the shooting started and she had to run back out for her life.

Crazy.

5. Well, they certainly don't cordon off large blocks as we do...
which seems to unnecessarily allow other civilians to be put at risk. On the other hand, we would so barricade blocks and blocks from the active sites, that there is no way we'd be getting the level of information and reporting that is going on in Mumbai. There needs to be a balance there, somewhere... I'm not sure either has found it.

4. I've been watching this as well with the same thoughts....
I saw the same scene as you had. The Indian commandos just seemed to be shooting without even aiming and the commentator on television sounded a bit confused as well, making mention that they were supposed to be "sharp-shooters."

6. I think he emptied out that machine gun about 5 times as he was waving in the wind
It was like something out of a movie.

I think bemildred may be onto something.
