Frank Cieciorka -- Clenched Fist Original Artist Dies

The image is universal, but most believe that Frank Cieciorka was the first to use it in his art. In 1965, his woodcut became the first of many images of a clenched fist to be used as a symbol of the struggle. He died on November 24.

I don't remember ever meeting this guy, but from the short biography at that link, I'm sure our paths crossed peripherally in the early 1960s. I do remember seeing the original button, though, back then.

Much water has passed under the bridge since those days.
