George Bush's last day in office will be a day like no other .........
..... a day I will celebrate with more gusto than my last day on active duty in the Navy.

..... a day I will celebrate with more joi de vivre than the day I made the best pizza I ever made.

..... a day I will celebrate more than the day my Bug Eye Sprite won the Ringmaster's Trophy in the Barnum Festival Parade in Bridgeport, CT. (picture below similar to mine)

This is just a starter list.

What, for you, will that day exceed?

that shallow and desperate to allow the passing of one administration to another exceed anything. It has happened before in my lifetime.

Good grief, get a grip.

7. I'll raise that with my TR4
It will be truly be a celebration and hopefully the end of the culture of corruption that has plagued this nation for a long eight years.

When I was a little girl my mother who was from Italy said that when they hung Mussolini that she and her father stood on the balcony and made a toast to his death by drinking a glass of wine. I think my husband and I will do the same. Just knowing he will be gone on the 20th of Jan is going to be positive for the majority of americans. All others who won't be will be in the same rut. They will not move forward.

13. For me, it will be a bittersweet day.
On one hand, elation from knowing our long national nightmare is over.

On the other, deep regret over what we've lost and may never regain.

In the end I'll probably get drunk and have a good cry.

17. That's a great idea! Thanks!
I hadn't thought to celebrate the end of the Bush Error. I was just too busy being thankful and counting the days. That would be like celebrating the end of spousal abuse, misery and utter pain. I think I'll try it!

19. Do you live in Whoville?
;) Will everybody hold hands in a circle and sing? :hi:

Anyway, for me bush's last day will exceed the elation I felt after I graduated from college in 1993, and celebrated not having to go back to a depressing dorm in the fall. I spent the time traveling instead! I went on a cruise to the Bahamas, whitewater rafting in Wisconsin, and spent a week in Hawaii!

22. Us, too!
We're already planning a big inauguration day party. Celebrating both things: ding dong the chimp is gone, and the ringing in of a new (and brighter) era. Anybody who thinks there's nothing to celebrate there is either a Republican or an all-around joyless loser (or both, of course).

30. January 20, 2009
will be 3,317 days since The Dread began for me.

June 12, 1999 (I remember dates. Don't know why - I just do) began as a usual blistering hot day, nothing out of the ordinary. Until the evening news announced that * was throwing his hat in the ring.

At 1st I laughed. Did that bozo even think he had a chance? Then the laughter went away and a dark, ominous feeling of fear grabbed me and has not loosened its grip on me. All of my fears and more came to pass.

My elation on January 20 will be tempered by the thought that he and all of his cronies will get off scot-free. Their innumerable crimes will go unpunished. But nothing will surpass the fact that:

George Bush will be GONE!!!
