Once Obama is innagurated, the tinfoilers here will be beyond discredited
We all know how many "There won't be an election in 2008" or other predictions of martial law there's been the past couple years and whatnot. Then the other side, the people saying elections never matter because Diebold would just steal it, you know, the crowd that believes Diebold is apparently so powerful they can rig elections in states that don't even use their voting machines. Anyone who's checked out political forums on the rest of the internet knows DU's reputation isn't the best, and this is the main reason for it.

Unfortunately I'm sure that nothing will change and we'll have to continue to hear this stuff even through Obama's administration.

1. I'll gladly eat my share of crow. However...
there hasn't been an Inauguration yet.

I'm keeping my fork and napkin handy in the hopes that I will dine at 12pm ET on 1/20/09.

5. The election was closer in absolute numbers
than pre election polls would suggest it to be in quite a few states. Coincidentally, those states used either DREs or Opti Scan ballots.

Although it was a landslide in terms of electoral numbers, it wasn't a landslide in terms of raw votes. Quite possibly, the combination of GOP vote suppression combined with machines that hadn't been retired after the 2004 debacle held those overall numbers down.

Consider the fury at this administration as people see their 401Ks cut in half and their jobs on the chopping block. Consider the revulsion at McCain's choice of a VP candidate. The vote shouldn't have been that close.

Denying that GOP election fraud is still a factor in our elections is self defeating. I'm on the side of the tinfoilers in this fight. Those machines need to be recalibrated or retired completely. Anyone found guilty of voter suppression activities should be charged and tried. We need complete transparency restored to our elections with mandatory spot checks of Opti Scan machines via hand counting of ballots.

Anything else risks Jeb Bush in 2012.

6. The great thing about tinfoilers is that
they were never really "credited". They can be wrong time after time and make claims about "what really happened" that they can never produce actual proof of, but it can't hurt their reputation. They don't start with any credibility, that's why they're called "tinfoilers".

7. The inauguration will make no difference
The tin foilers will simply incorporate Obama as part of the "they control the world" meme into their fantasies.

8. What about the "imminent" bombing of Iran
that was predicted in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008?

Don't forget the imminent draft that was going to happen.

See you at the barricades... :eyes:

10. nothing endears me to you more than calling people "tinfoilers"
of course, I'm just being sarcastic to fool you. Luckily, since you automatically dismiss things as tinfoilhattery without examining them, you're actually pretty easy to fool.
