2. Ha, I was the first vote with No. |

Football (and sports) is already a sufficiently dominant factor in US higher education and American culture. I get the impression some schools exist mainly as adjuncts to a team, so that the stadiums and arenas can be filled with students. The priorities are screwed. Perhaps football fans should learn to live with the debates and delicious uncertainty about who was "really" the best in the NCAA, rather than seek to crown yet another annual champion in what will become the equivalent of yet another major sports league. Besides which, it leads on the vast majority of players who may get life-long injuries but will never get the slightest whiff of a professional career. As an alternative, I suggest (only half-jokingly) national competitions to pick champions in foreign languages and sciences.

Who gives a happy rat's ass? A bunch of greedy clowns will get a lot of money for not doing a goddam thing, while the folks doing the work get bupkis.

Is it like 5th grade, where you learn long division for the first time? You know.. like your first math class in college is "Math 101"?
(That's another way of saying that I really don't care)

because they look at the whole season and the difficulty of the schedule, rather than just a tournament. Plus, the Bowl games are a big regional thing - everybody gets to see a championship and it spreads the money around. It's pretty cool, imho.

I hate sports that are based upon judges who evaluate who is most worthy, as opposed to sports that have competitions which end with one victor standing. In fact, I don't watch anything that requires someone to evaluate and judge to determine the winner, such as dog competitions, horse competitions, beauty competitions, gymnastics, diving, synchronized swimming, yada yada yada.
I'd rather watch a fast game of Curling (or even Hungry Hippo) than one minute of "judged" competitions.
So, the opinion of sports writers about who the best team is does not matter to me. Most of them are guys you wouldn't leave your wallet around.

10. Only if they awarded the seniors on the top three teams a cash prize equal to 4 years tuition ... |

... and fees. Enough to pay off their student loans, even if they have none.
