Monday will be the last day for a peaceful resolution in Thailand

The PAD is not going to give up control of the airports until the government resigns. They are prepared to resist to death.

The Government knows that if it resigns it is unlikely to succeed at the ballot box because its vote buying machinery has become such a contentious issue.

There is a possibility of a judicial ruling on Tuesday that would cause the ruling party principals to be banned from politics and force another election.

Both sides and the army are aware of the similarities of 1976 and the possibilities of mass killing of protesters which would have short term success but be almost certainly cause a blow back in the long term.

Both the Army and the King have, quite surprisingly, refused to take sides.

Obviously Thailand's business community would suffer massive problems if the Airports are not reopened. It is projected that one million Thais will lose their jobs because of a decline in tourism.

1. It looks like a breaking point
for someone. Hopefully it isn't the Thai economy that comes out the biggest victim.

And I'm damn glad I'm not trying to get out of that airport now. It was enough of an ordeal when it was functioning smoothly.
