Why don't the Big Three ask for a bridge loan to the end of January? |
|
Surely the incoming Administration and Congress would offer a more sympathetic ear. . Does this mean that they are REALLY going to fail before the end of the year..(like, 4 weeks from now)??
There is something here that just "doesn't fit". . .

1. They using the hard sell. |
|
And flew all the way to Washington in their private jets to let us know how urgent it is.
The more time Congress has to examine this, the less loopholes will be in the package for them to exploit. That's a 700 billion dollar lesson we've all learned.

7. The republicans negotiated most of the controls out of the last bailout. |
|
And we complied because of the "urgent need". They're hoping for the same situation.
We're more likely to write the check, but also put more conditions on it. Right now, they see a window to have and eat their cake.

11. Not really. Obama has offered little/no support for Detroit during this thing. |

This new administration will not be letting business as it's been usual to continue so these boneheads are making a last attempt to enrich themselves as the time runs out.

6. Not sure about that ear. |

As you see, we don't have Democratic support HERE and in DC Obama has already said Pelosi/Reid were right to block the vote (despite what they said to Levin's face), and has remained pretty much mum since.

10. they do not want to use the research and development loan to keep the companies going. |
|
they do not trust this congress to make good on a new loan to offset the research expenditures.
i would`t trust this congress to do anything to keep the big three solvent until jan 21.
maybe the big three are waiting for the adults to come to the table like they did when Chrysler received their loan in the 80`s/ it took 3 months to close the deal and the american people made money. Chrysler gave us the mini-van and a new generation of smaller autos.
