My autoworker brother has turned into a C-SPAN aficionado
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 12:45 AM by NNN0LHI
He never much cared about politics one way or another before. He always said he had more important things to do like watching sports and other hobbies, and didn't really want me bothering him or taking up his time with politics. But now he says he realizes how important all this is and has been all along. Imagine that? I wonder how many other people out there are thinking like him now that weren't politically aware a few weeks ago?

He can recite every Republican Congressman and Senators name who spoke against the loan for the automakers by memory. Better than I can. He passionately hates their guts. He can give you a short bio on each of them and everything.

He says he will stay involved in politics from here on out. He has learned his lesson.

I think this is a really good thing.

4. Curcious is he
or was he a republican? I have been watching for years now. I have run into a lot of brothers like that. What is so sad is many of them voted republican just because of the social issues not financial issues. It amazes me even now. Yeah I know Shelby and Corker both are southerns that have car plants in their states. I live in TN. It is a right to work state. The way I see it Shelby, Corker, McConell (?) from KY all want to destroy the big 3 because of their unions. That is what it is about to me. It is sad people are finally paying attention hopefully it won't be to late. It is going to take a President Obama to get us on the right track. It won't be easy and we all need to give him time.

6. I don't think he normally bothered voting
I know he voted for McGovern and I think that was his last until he voted for Obama which I know he did.

He has been more apolitical.

7. This is a great thing. If more people watched CSPAN
we probably would not be in the situation we are in. Power to the people.
