George W Bush Secures Six-Figure Book Deal for Memoirs
TEXAS - USA - George W Bush, who cannot read, has secured a six-figure publishing deal to write a book detailing the trials and tribulations of his lame-duck presidency.

The former President of the United States of America, George W Bush, has been commissioned to write his memoirs and plans to complete the project in the form of an instructional manual.

The president was offered a six-figure sum as an advance to complete the tell-all tome. The six-figure sum of 900,000 Iraqi Dinars is worth more than $200 at the current exchange rate

13. The six-figure sum of 900,000 Iraqi Dinars .. $200 at the current exchange rate.
Bwaa haa haa haa! Dubya, take all those Dinars to the Baghdad Bazaar with your buddy Lindsey Graham and score some cheap rugs for your posh new Dallas digs. Lindsey got 5 rugs for $5 on his and John McCain's shopping spree a while back. The Bazaar is safe. We have turned the corner. Remember? Surge and all that. NO FLAK VESTS ALLOWED! Perfectly safe.

The only presidential memoir I read was Johnson's The Vantage Point. It was full of stories I found a little hard to believe.

Since then, I have read the exerpts in the press as each president goes out to pasture, and find them largely as fantastic and self-serving as I found LBJ's.

Bush has a tendency to tell whoppers from the start, and I wouldn't expect his version of the events of the last eight years to be any different. He's already starting, and a team of friends like occupational liars Karl Rove and Karen Hughes are already helping him. His memoirs would set a new record for mendacity and perfidy, no doubt. I'll pass. Just as we were more interested in what an investigative journalist said about Bush's doings, so we will have to rely on a breed of investigative historians to determine what happened. The flurry of call backs Seymour Hersh will start making on January 20 will be just the beginning. Historians will be busy with the Bush years for decades, and not very much of it will paint Bush or his lieutenants in flattering lights. The truth will be found in dark corners on crumpled papers that missed the round file.

He'll write his memoirs, just as will Cheney, Rumsfeld and Gonzales. Douglas Feith, who headed the perfidious Office of Special Plans in the Pentagon, has already written a bogus defense of the decision to invade Iraq. Perhaps hack journalists like Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity will offer their insights. It will be enough to keep Bush's last quarter -- the sycophantic or ignorant 25% or so of the population that still supports him -- in line with the lame arguments they've been offering in defense of the Bush Junta for years. The rest of us know that the history of the Bush years is a tragic drama of tyranny, crimes to include war crimes, and incompetence. Heckuva job, Frat Boy.
